Chapter 09
"Finally! I've been so bored. How do you even ground a vampire? Especially a pure blood like me?" Aden ranted as she opened the door to let me in. She wore leggings with a light button up blue shirt that went mid thigh. Her feet were bare and her hair was left down, curling naturally at the ends. I stepped into the manor, taking in the extravagant decor as I had done before. We quickly left the opening of the Mansion and made our way towards Aden's bedroom.
As we made our way down the hallway, a tiny cat stepped out of the door that I knew to be Alexandre's office. I stopped and stared down at the majestic long haired cat, with black hair that reminded me of the kind of cat a witch would have. She tilted her head, her light green orbs staring into my eyes as she pawed her way across the marble floor towards me, letting out a soft purr as she rubbed against my leg. Aden smirked as she looked down at the cat. "That's Kiwi, Alex's cat. She doesn't like anyone but him and doesn't want anyone else to touch her."
As she spoke, Kiwi shot her a dirty look from where she purred against me. I crouched down and scratched the top of her head, in a tiny kitty euphoria when she pushed her head into my hand.
"Aren't you suppose to be grounded?" A venomous voice spoke from behind us. A woman, a vampire no doubt, who was shorter than I was but had a very luscious figure. She had dark red hair that was curled into a beautiful Hollywood glam style, with red lipstick and wore a tight black pencil skirt and a white blouse that was unbuttoned to reveal her ample cleavage.
"I'm on the grounds aren't I?" Aden rolled her eyes at this woman. The woman's eyes flickered over to me, and down towards kiwi who was hissing at her. I picked up kiwi who snuggled into my arms but glared at the woman.
"And who are you?" She asked in an accusing tone. Her entire aura screamed bitch and I suddenly wanted nothing more than to punish her for being so venomous and squeeze her heart till she was on the ground at my feet. Despite our height difference, she stood like a vicious tiger.
"Valencia." Was all I answered, not caring to explain myself to this woman.
"Ah, the little witch." She smirked. She leaned towards, reaching out towards kiwi.
"Come here, Kitty." She cooed, trying to take her seal from me. With a quick hiss, the claws came out and kiwi scratched the vampress across her porcelain face, instantly angering her. Now it was my turn to smirk.
She growled. "Damn cat!" She lifted her arm as if to scratch the innocent animal back. Before she could even land her hand anywhere near Kiwi, she was thrown into the wall. Everyone stood, slightly shocked. I felt the same until I realized that I had been the one to do it with my telekinesis, all while I stood stationary with the now purring Kiwi safe in my arms.
"What the fuck?" She hissed at me. "You bitch!"
"You're not touching her." I stated simply, my smirk growing as the vampire realized just who I was and what I was capable of.
"I will drain you of-" Her eyes lit up as she looked at something from behind Aden and I. "Darling!"
Alexandre must have been heading into his office when he came upon the group of us. We must of been a sight, his troublesome sister with the witch he couldn't stand, holding his cat and the red headed vixen who was interrogating us. He screamed power and dominance "What's going on?"
The red head launched herself towards him, latching onto his arm with an devious smirk. An unknown emotion flashed in Alexandre's eyes as they met mine before quickly disappearing. She batted her insanely long eyelashes as she spoke "I was on my way to see you when I ran into these two being troublesome. The witch attacked me!"
Alexandre ignored her, "Aden, you're grounded. What are you and Valencia up to?"
"Why does everyone think we are up to anything. She's here because I'm grounded. To keep me company. Duh." Aden twirled a strand of Raven hair between her fingers as she rolled her eyes, obviously over the situation. "We were minding our own business when Carly decided to come harass us."
Alexandre looked towards me at this moment, an eyebrow raising as he saw Kiwi content in my arms. "You are not welcome here, witch. Not until you swear to the Baldassarre."
"Alex-" Aden began, only to be cut off by Alexandre raising his hand to quiet her.
"Leave my home." His face was a statue, and his words were cold. Carly smirked from besides him, latching on to his arm desperately. I rolled my eyes, setting Kiwi down onto the floor, despite her meows of protest.
"Text me!" I said over my shoulder to Aden as I took off towards the front door.
ADEN'S POV
I hated Carly. I always had and always would. She had been trying to become the Coven Queen for years and desperately clung to Alex. She was never going to be queen, we all knew that. She was just another play thing for Alex until he got so annoyed with her he would rip off her head and burn her.
I smirked to myself when I had seen Valencia throw her into the wall without even lifting a single finger, and it was obvious that Carly was no match.
I had known from the second Alex had came home from meeting with Rose, the witch, that he had found his soulmate and life partner. He was the most powerful pureblood in our coven, and probably more powerful than Dante Ambrogio too. When he finally stopped messing around and realized that he couldn't fight off that his fate brought him to be with Valencia he would be even more powerful. Pureblood's soulmates were their equals and together meant their power was doubled. It was rare, but it wasn't unheard of for a vampire to be paired to a witch. When it did happen, that vampire was instantly more powerful than the rest in his coven- even in the land. Soon he wouldn't be able to resist the bond, that would become more obvious. Val didn't have vampire instincts so she wouldn't have to worry much about the bond.
Carly must have realized that Val and Alex were meant to be together when Kiwi, the biggest asshole cat in the world, had instantly taken a liking to Valencia. It was even more hilarious when Carly tried to take the cat.
"Carly go." Alex dismissed the red headed bitch without even sparing her a glance. She didn't argue, before scowling and sauntering off to do god knows what. He turned his attention to me as he scooped his cat off the floor. "We need the witch on our side."
"I think you know what you need to do in order to gain her. She's my friend, I'm not going to try to manipulate her to do something she probably would do if you were nice to her." I rolled my eyes at my brother, for someone so smart and wise he sure was an idiot. With a smirk I quickly added "She's your soulmate not mine."
