Nothing changed after we met Nate. We carried on, lived as normal as though nothing had happened, Even though we all knew it did. We had a daily reminder. Nate started hanging out with us. He seemed really nervous around me at first, but eventually got quite comfortable. Me and Karly really considered him a friend. He got a job at Starbucks working the morning shift, just like us. And when the shift was over, he'd walk with us to lunch. eventually, we just became the Starbucks Trio. We had been officially branded by the rest of the Starbucks staff. I didn't mind though. That was one life. My other life was going great as well. I had brought back so many Vaielans, I had averaged it to about 6 a day. This went on for around 6 months. Then, we were allowed to return home for a week if we wanted to. Which, of course, I did.
The society members gathered in a secret alleyway, (seriously, what was it with me and alleyways?), where Alyah would teleport us all home for the next week. I had told Karly and Nate that I would be gone for a week to visit relatives. So, technically, I wasn't lying. I was excited to go home. But not excited to see Bobby again.
"Hey Emilia."
"What? Oh, hey Bobby."
"Bet you're not used to being called that now are you?"
"No, not exactly. You wouldn't be used to being called Bobby either, would you?"
"Nah, I didn't use my fake identity at all."
"What!? But, the rebels could have figured out who you were, and fled!"
"Oh well then."
"You really don't think much of this mission, do you?"
"Nope. And really, why should I? I only joined this thing to see another planet."
"You disgust me."
"I'll take that as a compliment." He smirks. Before I can think of a smart-alec retort, we are whisked up by a white tunnel that seems to be made up of light. Before I know it, I'm standing on a beautifully patterned slab of concrete, where all teleportations to other planets take place.
"EM!"
"TAHLIA!"
"Oh my gosh! I'm so glad you're safe! And not brainwashed by Earth!"
"Haha, uhhh, no." Just then, I saw my parents trotting towards me.
"Mum, dad. Oh, I've missed you so much."
"We've missed you as well sweetheart. How's Earth? I must say, I have never seen anybody send us that many rebel Vaielans to trial in my whole reign as king here."
"Haha, thanks dad. Earth's great." He raises an eyebrow at me. "I mean, It's, ummm. The mission, I mean, is great, not Earth. Earth is, well , everything you said it would be."I flashed him a what I hoped to be a convincing smile. It must of been because he immediately softened.
"Come on squirt, We're preparing a feast in honour of your return."
"Okay, Is it okay if I spend a bit of time with Tahlia first though?"
