Aaaaaaaand, We've got Peyton List as Karly. She's so pretty! And fits what I think is Karly's description very well. Again, I hope y'all agree with my choice because i'm not backing down on this one!

*****************************************************************

I woke up, as usual. I got out of bed after 30 minutes of procrastination, as usual. I drove my car using a fake drivers licence to work, as usual. The only thing that wasn't usual, was that as soon as I stepped into Starbucks, my eyes found Nates'. Which, actually, wasn't unusual at all. So, as we do every morning, he smiled at me in a friendly manner. Until I gave him a look that could send him to the grave if looks could kill. His smile immediately vanished and a look of pure fear took its place.

Oh yes, that's right. You'd better be scared buddy, I'm onto you and you know it. I spoke to his mind. If it was even possible, his face went whiter. I broke eye contact and started work. I had to get everything done, because as soon as our shift was over, Nate would certainly try to make a run for it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course, being the intuitive person that I am, Nate ran for it as soon as the shift was over. Unfortunately for him, I was very fast, and I had also finished my shift 10 minutes ago, so I was onto him. I caught up to him, grabbed his collar, and dragged him to the nearest alleyway I could find. (Again with the alleyways, I know right?).

"Alright, start talking."

"Oh you're letting me speak before you send me back are you?" His words were dripping with sarcasm and fake curiosity. I nodded and narrowed my eyes at him. "Oh, okay then, well. I am Vaielan, as I'm sure you're aware. I escaped to Earth a little over 5 years ago. I had built a life here, and then I was captured and sent back. As my punishment, I had my abilities stripped from me and I was sent back to Earth. However, because I am a descendant of the most powerful Vaielan to ever have lived, My powers 'grew' back. So here I am. Any questions?"

Again, I narrowed my eyes at him. I hadn't seen this side to Nate before, he was always so shy and closed off. I never even considered that underneath all that he might be this sarcastic, loud and rowdy Nate that I see before me at this moment.

"Who are you descended from?" I asked, even though I was [pretty sure I new the answer.

"Castor Vai."

"I though so. So, Nate, what's your real name."

"It's Nate. Well, kind of. Nate's an abbreviation of my real name."

"Which is..."

"Nathaniel."

I widened my eyes and gasped. Nathaniel Vai? But, I saw his trial, he's supposed to be dead!"

"Problem?" He asked, with no hint of sympathy or concern in his eyes, whatsoever.

"I-I saw your trial, 3 years ago. You're supposed to be dead!"

"Wow, thanks, that's reassuring." He scoffed. "So, are you going to call Alyah and send me back to my death that I have so narrowly escaped so many times whilst I let my powers redevelop?"

I shook my head, "No."

He looked shocked. Honestly, the look on his face was priceless. "Wait, what? Are you serious?"

"Yes, I'm not going to be the one who sends you to your death. That job is no longer a part of my life anymore."

"I'm not sure I understand."

"I've been living 3 separate lives Nate, lying to you, lying to my family, and at the same time, I'm literally sending people to their deaths, I can't live like that anymore. I didn't know who I was. A Human. A Vaielan. Or an Assassin."

"Assassin's a dramatic way to put it. But when you think about it, kind of appropriate." He mused

"Are you right there? You're making me feel worse!"

"I'm fine, what about you?"

"I am definitely not fine! Now are we done here?"

"Wait, you're seriously letting me go? Just like that?"

"Of course not! You owe me now."

"Oh God, I should of seen that coming. Alright, what do you want."

"You can't use your powers."

"What!?"

"You heard me. Using your powers is what draws us to you, its like a specific scent that we can use to track you. If you're being attacked, let me handle it, don't use your powers. Because, if I recall correctly, you're still weak, and if a Vaielan attacks you, your dead, or seriously injured. Am I right?"

"Yeah, you are. Ughhhhh! Fine, I won't use my powers! I hope your happy."

"Good! Wow, I've never seen this side to you before. It's quite refreshing."

"Gee, thanks."

"You're welcome. Now come on, Lets get back to Karly before she realises that I told you that she told me about your powers."

"Wait a sec... She realises that I told you, that she told me, that I had powers. Geez, what a brain teaser."

I giggled, "Yeah, I suppose so."

"Oh my gosh, did you just giggle!?"

"Uh yeah, you got a problem with that?"

"Uh, no, it's just, I've never heard you laugh before, let alone giggle."

"Huh, I guess I didn't have the carelessness to even bother I suppose."

We had just left when Karly bounded up to us.

"Ohmigosh! Where were you guys! I've been looking for you ev-" She eyed us for a moment. "You haven't just had a make-out session in an alley way did you?"

My eyes went wide and I choked, coughing whilst gagging. Nate was just standing there looked petrified, and a little grossed out out.

"A make out session, between me and Nate? Ha! He wishes."

"What? I do not!"

I shot him a wink. He groaned.

"Can we just get lunch now."

"Yeah, sure, I'm starving. What about you Amber, you coming?"

"Why do you even bother asking? I come with you everyday!"

"Touché."

We walked off down the street. I was about to jog up to walk right by Karly's shoulder when I was stopped by a hand on my own shoulder.

"Just a thought, what's your real name."

"Emilia Gracefield."

"What! You're the princess?"

I groaned. "I hate it when people refer to me as royalty. Yes, I am the princess. Don't treat me any different just because I happen to be a Gracefield, okay?"

"Okay, got it."

"Good."

"So, what's for lunch your Highness?" he smirked.

I gave an exasperated sigh. "That's not going away any time soon, is it."

"No princess. You're gonna have to get used to it."
