One does not simply...

The rain lasted the rest of the week. So it was a good time to catch up on "what's cool on Earth." Turns out, there's alot that's cool on Earth. I've been particularly interested in the tech here. Nate's taught me about Phones (iPhones in particular), computers and most importantly, the TV. By far the most advanced and awsome piece of tech that humans have created. I probably spend about 20 hours a week watching the darn thing. Which, so i've heard, is normal for someone of my age. But what can I say? It's unlike anything I own on Vaiela.

The only thing that's holding me back from really enjoying Earth, is the constant, nagging thought that's always in my head. It keeps telling me, "Emilia, you are Vaielan, a royal one at that, and you're hanging out with people that are so incredibly beneath you. You're becoming human." It's almost as if i'm being tracked by someone on Vaiela. But that could never happen, could it?

"Come on Amber. Please? He's asked me out on a date to a really expensive resuraunt and I don't have anything to wear!"

"Oh, come on Karly. I hate shopping! Can't you go by yourself?"

She lightly curled her fingers, placed her thumb lightly on the tip of her forefinger. Oh no, she'd better not...

"One does not simply, go shopping by themselves!"

I totally called that.

I groaned, long and loud. Obviously so that she could tell that I was NOT happy about this.

"Fiiiiiiiiiiiiine."

"Yay!"

Yeah, woopee.

"Oh Amber! I can't choose! Which one do you think Nate would like!"

"I. Don't. Know."

She glared at me. "You don't know or you don't care?"

I glared back at her. "Pick one."

"You really hate shopping, don't you?"

"What was your first clue?"

She looked taken back. "Wow, i've never seen this side to you before."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you're normally so mild. Never swearing, never shooting anyone dirty looks, never talking trash about someone behind their back. You just, dealt with it, and now you're, not."

"Well, I've got alot going on in my mind right know, and it's not helping."

She sat down beside me and put a comforting arm around my shoulders. "You know you can tell me anything, right? You know I won't judge."

"I know, " and I did. I knew that I could tell her everything, and she wouldn't say a thing. But it would keep her safe.

"You know, I used to have this friend right, and she was tough, like, really tough. She was apart of a gang. But she wouldn't tell me anything about it. She told me it was to keep me safe. But we were best friends, so eventually, she told me everything. A week later, the gang came looking for me. Because they had found out that she told me. But I am actually quite strong, believe it or not. So I fought them, becasue they threatened me. I was strong, but not strong enough. They almost seemed to have superhuman abilities, or something. One of them manipulated fire, and tried to burn my house down. Another one of them pulled these knives out of nowhere and tried to stab me, using his speed, or something,  to throw me off guard. But I survived, I dunno what I did. But I must've done something becasue they all ran away eventually. So, If you're holding something back from me to keep me safe, then you can tell me, because I guarantee that I can protect myself."

I stared at her. I dead set thought she had read my mind. How else would she know that I was keeping her safe by not telling? Her story unnerved me. So, she had encountered Vaielans before, and survived. But how she survived was a mystery to me. All of a sudden, I had no idea who this person sittting in front of me was.
