Oh my gosh

Nate was Vaielan

---------------------------------------------------------------------

"What?"

"Are you okay Em?"

"Huh?"

"You just kind of, went white, and, started shaking. Are you okay?"

"Uh..."

"Okay, come on, I'm taking you home."

I couldn't believe it. I wouldn't believe it. Nate, A rebel. No. He was one of my best friends. For the first time in my life, I didn't think I could carry out what I was meant to do. I mean, I was practically selling out my best friend to death. I knew what happened to a rebel once they were brought back to Vaiela. I wasn't supposed to, but I did. I found out 3 years ago...

It was dark. I was hiding in a cupboard. I had run away from training because Bobby was being mean to me. I was weak then. And cowardly. I had no self esteem at all whatsoever. I had no idea that the cupboard I was hiding in was inside the council room. I had only realised this when I heard a clutter of voices walk into, wherever I was. I took a peek outside of my hiding spot. It was my dad! And the council! Oh no, I was in a council meeting! I wanted to leave, it would've been easier on my life if I had, but just then, my rebellious side came out. This was going to be interesting.

"Greetings honoured council members. We are gathered here today To trial yet another rebel that has been brought from Earth." They all looked toward the double doors. So did I, looking for a prisoner, a rugged thief or something to be trialed. Instead a boy walked out. I had to suppress a gasp. He was so young! Why would they trial someone so young?

"Nathaniel Vaie. You are hereby accused of treason, and will be subject to execution." What! execution? He couldn't have been older than I was. And I swear I recognised that last name. Where had I heard it before? Then the boy spoke, he had a deep voice. It didn't match his looks, it was the voice of a king. Now that I think about it.

He gave a cold laugh. "Execution huh? Wow. You would actually execute the rightful king of Vaiela?" Rightful king? This guy was delusional.

"Rightful king huh? Do tell what you mean by that." I had never heard my father speak like that. He almost sounded evil.

"You know what I mean. Castor made sure that anyone of his bloodline would become ruler of Vaiela, Male or Female, it didn't matter to him. Tell me, what did your ancestor do that compromised the bloodline?"

My father gave a sneer. "That's for me to know, and you to wonder for the rest of your life, not that it will be much longer." Oh my gosh, they really were going to execute him. Is this what happened to all the rebels?

"Get on with it then."

Father nodded to his guard. The guard pulled a syringe out of his pocket, it was filled with an electric blue liquid.

"It's hard to get on with it. Would you like me to explain what his does?"

"Not particularly, no."

"Well, too bad because I'm going to tell you anyway. This liquid, will rid you of your powers, however, it will not mask the fact that you are Vaielan, anyone from Vaiela will know that you are also, Vaielan. Alyah will then transport you to Earth, where the rebel hunters will find you, and attempt to bring you back. Technically, when a Vaielan uses his or her power on another Vaielan, it won't kill them. But if a Vaielan uses their powers on a human, then the human will die. Without your powers, you are no more than a human. Do you see where this plan leads, Vaie."

"Did you come up with that all by yourself?"

Father snarled. He nodded to his guard, and the guard lunged at the boy and injected him with the serum. Then, Alyah appeared out of nowhere and transported him to his demise. Earth.

That poor boy was probably dead by now. I could not let that happen to Nate. I would not let that happen to Nate. Just like 3 years ago, my rebellious side had come out again. And I would do everything in my power to keep him safe.
