1/25/15 What is Love?
A couple of months ago, someone told me I don't know what love is
This cause me to think hard, and dig deep within myself to ask the question
What is Love?
From your experiences, from what you've seen, how do you define love?
Man, how the hell do you define love?, I thought...
My mind started racing through examples in my life
I thought of my mother and father, who were scrutinized for wanting to be together, by both sides of the family,
But have been married nearly 22 years despite.
That Is Love
I also thought of my parents sticking together with one another through years of arguments, disputes and disagreements
That Is Love
I thought of my Nana, and mother giving their lasts to help someone in need
That Is Love
I thought of my father taking my mother on vacations, out to eat, and out to have a good time, away from the kids once a week
That Is Love
I thought of my mother sacrificing her job to spend more time at home, my father sacrificing his freedom to put food on the table, my parents being homeless to put a roof over their children's heads, me struggling for years to put myself in a position to get to college to better my families situation
That Is Love
Struggling, hurting, going hungry for someone else's sake
Sacrificing the best years of your life to put food on the plate
Giving you my heart before you ever get a date...
