"Have a good day today, kiddo." Charlie said as he got up from the table and placed a kiss on top of my head, before leaving. Sighing out loud, I walked to the kitchen sink and rinsed out his coffee cup. Today was Monday, January 5th. Also my first day back to school since my transformation.
I had been excited about my return for a while now, we even had everything set up. In every one of my classes, I'd have at least one of the Cullen's with me so they could keep an eye on me. Turning away from the sink, I went up the stairs and walked into my bedroom so I could make sure I had everything. Pulling my backpack on over my grey jacket so I could fit in, I walked into the bathroom and placed a few boxes of contacts in one of the pockets so I could exchange them after every class.
Wearing contacts was getting really old, and very annoying, but I knew I had to do it in order to keep appearance.
I walked outside and locked the door behind me, before heading to my truck. I had finally gotten Edward to letting me drive myself, since I felt as if I didn't drive my truck as often as I wanted to.
Finding the school wasn't hard, like most things in this town, it was just off the highway. The school consisted of a frightening total of only three-hundred and fifty-seven - now fifty-eight students, and I knew even with the contacts in, I would definetly stand out, even when I try not to.
The school parking lot was beginning to fill up when I arrived, and I was glad I wasn't going to be one of the first people to show up. Seeing the silver Volvo parked near the front, I smiled as I saw an open space next to it and pulled in there. Getting out of the truck, I noticed the Cullen's all standing under black umbrella's on the sidewalk, and I realized it was beginning to rain. They all smiled at me as I walked over, and Alice was the first to hug me, with Jasper holding the umbrella higher so she wouldn't get wet.
"Oh Bella! Today is going to be great! Aren't you excited?" I smiled at her as she let go, and Edward walked to my side, wrapping his arm around my waist and holding an umbrella so I could be relatively dry, even if I didn't care about the wet anymore. Edward chuckled lowly to himself, and I looked up at him curiously.
"Some of the students are.. Interested to see I have someone in my arms." Still looking confused, he explained it a little further.
"I've never been interested in anyone else, shot down some admirers so expect some jealous followers." Edward winked and I smiled up at him, turning my head in the direction his eyes quickly glanced at, and I noticed a short girl with dark curly hair glaring over at us, and the girl who stood beside her with darker, straighter hair and glasses looking at us in curiosity.
"That's Jessica Stanley and Angela Weber, Angela's thoughts are innocent, she's wondering if she might get along well with you, but I can see Jessica is a little jealous. She's never gotten over me, even after I rejected her on a date a few times." Angela noticed me glancing over to them, and smiled nicely at me while Jessica forced a fake one. Smiling back at them, I looked back at Edward and let out a small laugh.
"That's sort of pitiful, but Angela seems nice." Before the conversation could go on anymore, the bell rung and Edward led me inside one of the buildings to the first class.

The day had passed by extremely slow. The burning in my throat has been uncomfortable, but with Edward by my side I was able to manage. Edward and I were walking to the cafeteria for lunch hour when I began to feel my contacts burn, meaning it was time to change them, and fast. Finding a bathroom on the way, I paused at the door to let Edward know I'd be back in a second.
I was happy to find the bathroom empty, but I didn't waste any time. Setting my backpack on the counter, I pulled out a box of contacts and placed them in my eyes, blurring my sight for a slight second.
