The rest of the week passed by fast, I was becoming more accustomed to the burning in my throat, although it was more intense then when I was around Charlie. Edward told me it was because I was around too many humans at once, but the burning would eventually disappear and just leave the itching feeling instead.

Jasper was astonished at how I was becoming used to this change so fast. He would always tell me that my first year as a newborn was supposed to be the hardest, but with my willpower and self control, I seemed to have adjusted in only a short nine months. The fact that I was all alone when I woke up makes them even more surprised, and amazed at how I am.

I still know nothing about who changed me, and why. I always feel as if my creator is lurking in the shadows, waiting to show themselves at the right time. It scared me to think of that, my life right now was perfect; but I couldn't help the feeling that danger was on it's way.

The phone rang one Saturday morning after Charlie had left to go hunting with Harry Clearwater. Walking downstairs from my bedroom, I answered on the third ring to hear my mother.

"Bella?" She asked, and I smiled, closing my eyes. I missed my mother very much.
"Hey, mom. What's up?" I greeted, wondering why she was calling.
"Hey, honey. So I just wanted to let you know that I'm planning on coming down to visit you for your spring break, how does that sound?"
"Mom, my spring break is in about, three months." I smiled, remembering how she always wanted to plan things way before they would happen.
"I know, I just miss you so much. How are things there? How's Charlie? And Edward?" I had told my mother over email how everything has been, telling her about the Cullen's and how they are like me, how I was starting school and everyone seemed nice, even how I had to wear stupid contacts to cover my identity.

"Edward's fine, so is Charlie. He went out hunting this morning with Harry Clearwater, do you remember him?"
"Ah, yes. Harry Clearwater. I was good friends with his wife, Sue, when I still lived there.." She slowly broke off the conversation, not wanting to bring up past memories of hers in Forks.
Before I could continue, I suddenly felt a presence near by, and not the presence of the Cullen's.
"Mom, I'll have to call you back, okay? I love you." Before she could protest, I hung up the phone and was out the back door in seconds, to be face to face with a man with glowing red eyes.

I was caught off guard with how he looked, I haven't seen another vampire with red eyes like mine used to be during my existence, which means he doesn't have the same diet as me. He feeds on humans.
"Can I help you?" I asked him when he didn't speak. He had blonde hair pulled back by a hair band, only wearing blue jeans and a tan jacket. His chest was on show, and I could see the six pack he had.

"Bella, is it?" His voice made me want to run. He didn't look or sound friendly, and although I just wanted to run far away until I reached the Cullen's, a part of me feared I wouldn't make it.

Then my thoughts stopped, surely Alice would see this? Surely, the Cullen's would be here any minute to help me? I felt as if I could still take him, some newborn blood still left in me, but I didn't know his power, if he had one.
"Who are you?" I bravely called out, forgetting we were out in the open, in my backyard. If a neighbor walked out right now, they could look over and see us. Smiling menacingly at me, he backed away into the trees, bringing up a finger so he could signal me to follow him. I didn't know what I was doing, but my feet moved faster than my thoughts, and I was standing in the hidden shade caused by trees, still watching him.

Suddenly, he wasn't alone anymore. Two other vampires with identical red eyes showed up just then, on either side of him. One vampire had an olive-toned skin, his hair a glossy black. He was hard muscled, but not like the first guy I saw. The woman had hair a fiery red with wild eyes, her posture seeming feline from what I saw. I watched as the man with blond hair pull her closer to him by wrapping his arm around his waist, making it obvious they were mates.
The olive-toned man was first to speak.
