We returned to the house after our engagement to break the news to the family, but as soon as we broke through the trees to the entrance of their lawn Alice was in front of us squealing and jumping up and down. Before she could say a word, Edward placed his hand around her mouth.
"Don't say anything, they can hear us and we want to tell them." He told her, knowing she was going to mention wedding planning. Frowning when he took his hand away, she nodded her head and followed us up the stairs to reach the front door.
Edward held the door wide open for me to enter first, and I smiled brightly at him before calling everyone down, in less then a second everyone stood before us. Alice happily walked over and stood next to Jasper, where he wrapped his arm around her waist and Edward took my hand.
"We have some news." I smiled to everyone, and realization lit up in Rosalie's eyes. Holding my left hand up, I showed off the dazzling ring I had just been gifted from Edward. Esme gasped happily and covered her mouth, Carlisle grinned widely, Alice was jumping up and down and squealing again while Jasper tried to calm her, Rosalie and Emmett were smiling as big as Carlisle.
Esme was first to hug me, sobbing loudly. When she let go she was smiling, so I knew she was happy. Carlisle was next, congratulating us, then everyone else hugged us while congratulating us happily. After the announcement finally ended, Alice dragged me away from everyone and brought me to her bedroom where she pulled out a large binder from a drawer.
Taking a seat next to me at the foot of hers and Jasper's bed, she flipped open the top cover and I could see an index of the contents. Without even glancing at the first page, she flipped through the book until she reached a page that had an elegant scrawling in the middle reading, "Cullen Wedding's."
"I like to be the wedding planner of the family, you'd be surprised with how many times Jasper and I had re-married, as well as Emmett and Rose, even when Carlisle and Esme would update their vows I'd make it a beautiful ceremony." She smiled proudly at me before skimming through the pages, landing on a page that simply read, "Edward & Bella."
"How?" I stopped myself before finishing my question, knowing she'd seen us marrying.
"I know the future is subjective, depending on what courses and decisions people make, but the day we met you I started this catalog. I knew no matter what, you and Edward would end up together, so I wanted to be prepared. Are you ready to see what I have planned?"Not being able to contain my smile, I nodded excitedly. I wasn't a fan of marriage, but if it was another way of being with Edward for eternity I'd take it.
She turned the page and my eyes met with a sketch of an elegant dress, a dress that looked to be from a Jane Austen movie. The details were stunning and beautiful, and I noticed a small patch of satin on the page next to the dress; the material that would be used. Reaching out, my fingers lightly touched the fabric and I loved the feel of it.
"What do you think?" Alice asked softly, worry evident on her face.
"I love it, Alice. The dress looks incredible." The worry washed off her face and she sighed in relief, smiling widely.
"Oh, that's so good! Trust me, it'll look even better in person, I promise. Oh, by the way, when do you want the wedding to be?"
"Well Alice we just got engaged about less than an hour ago.. I haven't talked about it much to Edward." The look in her face made me backtrack my answer.
"The sooner the better, I guess." I sighed.
"Oh, well I can probably get everything sorted out for next month?" Again she began bouncing up and down, from the bounciness of the bed it made me move with her."Next month is pretty soon, I guess. Are you scared I'm going to back out of it?" I laughed, and she stopped bouncing.
"I've actually had my visions of that. I just know you don't like weddings so I don't want you to bail on it." The worry in her face made me wrap my arms around her in a hug."If you feel better that we do it next month, then okay." I sighed in defeat. Even if I wanted to ditch on the wedding, I knew Alice wouldn't let me; but if this is what made her happy, than I'd do it.
"Yay!" She clapped her hands and happily cheered. I loved how enthusiastic she was, it made me glad to excite her like this.
"So first, I need to make a guest list! You get to veto some people, of course, but not all! This wedding has to be extravagant, like your ring! Oh, Bella, everything is just going to be perfect! And then we will discuss the color scheme, the decorations, the flowers! Oh, also the cake, and where to have the wedding! We can have it here, in our backyard! Also," She continued rambling on and on about all of the possibilities and I began to zone out, daydreaming of what was to come after the wedding.
The honeymoon, though, is what excited me the most; I would finally be able to give my all to Edward. No more waiting, it would be just us in our own honeymoon dream. It would be perfect.
"Bella!" Alice snapped in front of my face, taking me out of my daydream.
"Huh?" I asked, turning toward her scowling face.
"This is important. If you want some control over the plans, I advice you to pay attention or else I will do it all! I don't think you'll like if I controlled it all." Alice had a point, once she had a mission, there was no reeling her in.
"Alice, I trust you on this. As long as I get to veto some guests, than I can just do that. Whatever else, you can handle I am sure." I began standing up when she grabbed my hand, and I looked at her once more."Are you sure?" She asked, concern lacing her features but hidden behind that was excitement. Smiling and nodding my head, she jumped up and wrapped her arms around my neck in a hug.
"Thank you, Bella! You'll love everything, I promise!" She told me and I let go, smiling back at her."One more thing," I asked, and she raised her eyebrows.
"Have you seen where the honeymoon will be?" Alice's smile grew and she nodded her head, but shook her finger before I can ask.
"I have seen it, it's a beautiful place, but Edward wants to keep it a surprise. Sorry!" I frowned slightly but nodded my head in defeat before exiting her room to find my new fiance.-
"I love you." Edward whispered, kissing the top of my head that rested on his chest. We were laying in the meadow, watching the sunrise. The beginning of a new day, but like many days ahead of me, this day I looked forward too. We planned on telling Charlie of our engagement today after he returned from work, then I'd go down to the reservation and inform Jake. I was scared of how Jake would react; I didn't want him to be upset with the news, although I knew he probably would be.
"I love you." I replied quietly, escaping my thoughts as Edward reached down and grasped my hand in his, moving it around so my ring faced him and watched as it began to glimmer in the sunlight.
"So beautiful." He murmured, bringing my hand up to his lips so he could leave a kiss on my ring finger."I can't wait to call you my wife. Have you and Alice set a date?" I sat up and looked at him, smiling. "I'm sure you already know that." I laughed, as he sat up with me.
"The sooner the better." He repeated my quote quietly, bringing me into his arms so we could have a passionate kiss.
