Sunburn

Sunburn: Part 5

"Get your but out of my class!" The maths teacher yelled at me.

"But sir..." I started.

"Sir what?" He snapped. I stopped at the door, too afraid to enter into the sun.

"Do you know about my condition?" I asked while gazing into the outside world.

"No, and frankly, I don't care." He stated then looked back at his bookwork on his desk.

"Don't worry about it then..." I said as I slowly stepped out of the door, weary to move out of the shade emitted from the class roof.

"I was wondering how long you were going to stay in there Jason!" Helen said, making me jump... Because I did not expect her to be waiting at the door for me.

"Don't scare me like that!" I said, quickly turning round to face her.

"Oh, sorry... I didn't mean to didn't mean to give you a fright." Helen said, looking down at her feet, feeling quite ashamed.

"No no, it's okay." I said, slowly turning back around to face the sun. "Why were you waiting at the door anyway?" I asked.

"I've been here two days, I have no other friends." She explained. But I wasn't listening, I could only stare at the sunlight... There was no way I could leave the safety of the shelter...

Then suddenly Helen grabbed my hand and dragged me into the sunlight, not knowing about my condition...

As soon as the sun touched my skin, I began to feel all energy slowly be dragged out of my body...

"Where... Are... We going?" I managed to stutter, while keeping consciousness and my footing.

"Lets go explore the school!" Helen said with excitement in her voice.

"Slow... Down..." I stuttered... Then she stopped, I ran into her as she stopped.

"Whats wrong?" Helen asked.

"You think maybe we could get out of this heat?" I said as I started walking toward the shade of a nearby tree... But it was too late, everything went black, and before i knew it... I was falling towards the grass...

The sun got to me quite quickly today...

I have no clue how I can get myself out of the sun now I'm unconscious...
