"Hey, Amelia..."

"Oh! Hey there, Amelia..."

"Oh hey! How you doing... Amelia..."

Noooooo that sounds too seedy... Too creepy... You sound like an old evil villain from a black and white 1940's melodrama... Like you've been expecting her presents... Make it simple...

"Oh, hey..."

"Hi..."

"What's up?... No..."

All this is just so complicated... Why is it so damn hard to greet a girl you have a crush on?...

I was looking in the mirror of the boys toilets... Trying to figure out what I'll look like the next time i approached Mia... And what i was going to say...

"Oi! Jason! How long are you going to be?!" Helen called out from the door, "And quit talking to yourself, you sound like an idiot!"

Lovely... Helen just confirmed how much of an idiot i sounded like... I walked out the door with my hands in my pockets, and my head down. I felt like a complete idiot...

"Oh yep... Thats understandable.." Helen stated as we started to walk off.

"What's understandable?!" I quickly said, getting defensive.

"Chill dude, it's just understandable that you've gone red." Helen confirmed.

I quickly slapped my hands on my face to feel my warm cheeks... The were very warm... Which meant they were red... Very red... And knowing that my cheeks were red probably would have made them go even redder...

"But seriously dude... You sounded like a cliché infatuated dude from a 90's comedy flick... An idiot! If you want to know how to talk to a girl... Well..." Helen then stopped and looked at me, so i did too and looked back at her.

Silence...

Helen then cleared her throat... Loudly...

"What?" I asked. Helen just grunted. "Your point is?" I asked again.

"Hello?!" Helen said as she gestured to herself, "Hey Einstein! I am a girl! I can tell you what to say and what not to say!"

Oh true... Weird... You almost forgot Helen was a girl...

Well... Helen had a point, but maybe Helen thought completely differently than Mia? What then???

"What if Mia likes it if i said stuff to her that you said to say to you that you said would not make her happy when i said those things that would make her happy to you?" I said, stressing out about the situation.

"Whoa whoa whoa... Calm down mister... Rephrase that... In... English preferably..." Helen then told me, because she had become confused by the way i worded my question...

"Okay... What if she likes what you say she wont like?" I tried again.

"Well done Jason, that actually makes sense!"

"Thanks..." That was sarcasm...

"Well... I don't know then... Would you like me to talk to her for you?"

"Oh god no! I don't need her knowing i have a huge crush on her! That would be embarrassing!"

"Not to mention the cutest little crush on her" Helen said with a little giggle...

"Oh hush child!" I demanded... "Don't we have to get to class?" I asked.

"Well yeah... But somebody needed to take a pee pee break... When actually he went to go and talk to his reflection." Helen said, while lifting an eyebrow at me to single me out as that "somebody"...

I just grunted...

"Well... I guess I'll see you at lunch, Romeo!" Helen called out to me.

"Ah shut it, Helen!" I called back as i went off to my class...

Yeah... Helen is right... I could talk to her... But it would make the same effect as if i were talking to Mia... When i walked past Mia next, id just need to snap of a quick "hey," "hello," "g'day," or "hi," just to get the ball rolling...

But then again... Maybe I'll try that after we exchange smiles a little more often...
