I'm not too pleased with myself...

I was sitting at lunch... By myself because I was not in a good mood...

The reason I was not in a good mood was because we were up to week five in school now, and I still hadn't built the courage to talk to Amelia yet.

I must have really looked like a loser, sitting at a table all by myself. I noticed as I looked up from my plate every now and then, that a few people were looking at me each time...

I must have looked pretty pissed off... Sitting there with a big scowl on my face.

"Jason? You alright?" Asked a voice as they sat beside me.

I looked to my right to check who it was.
It was just Helen.

"Yeah I'm fine." I replied.

"Why are you constantly sitting by yourself?" She asked.

"I'm just thinking." I replied as I looked back down at my plate of macaroni and cheese.

"What are you thinking about? Each time I come and have lunch with you, you have the same look on your face."

I stopped eating and looked up from my plate, contemplating whether or not I should tell Helen about Amelia...

"I'm a woos." I finally said.

"You're a what?" Helen asked.

"A woos."

"Now why are you a woos?"

I sat up and reconsidered my direction in telling Helen my feelings.

"Alright!" I said as I turned to face Helen. "You know the ginger girl?"

"There are many..." Helen stated.

"The short one?" I asked.

"Oh, Emma?"

"Who's Emma?" I asked.

"A short ginger girl at this school."

"Oh, no not her, the other one?"

Helen thought for a bit, then finally answered. "Oh, you mean Mia?"

"Amelia?" I asked.

"Yes, she likes to be called Mia." Helen stated. "What about her?"

"Well... Um... It's... Well..." I stuttered.

"You like her, don't you?" She interrupted.

I sat there stunned for a while, she had guessed almost exactly what my feelings were... Almost.

"Well... I don't know her yet to be able to like her..." I finally said.

"So what about Mia then?" Helen asked.

I re-adjusted myself in my chair, thinking of a way to approach Helen with my answer.

"Well, I saw her, and now I want to meet her." I explained.

"So you like her!"

"No, I never said that!"

"So you want to like her!"

"No I never said that either!"

Helen laid back in her chair and giggled with a very guilty grin.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked with a hint of fear in my voice.

"Because you do want to like her you are just too afraid to admit it." She explained.

"Okay then, maybe I am" I said angrily.

I looked back down at my lunch and began shoveling food back into my mouth, then stopped...

Admit it... You do want to like her... You just don't know her yet... But you want to know her... But you don't know her... Just admit it...

So i looked up from my food... Then looked at Helen...

"I do want to like Mia..." I finally admitted...
