After Colton had left, I took a long shower filled with thoughts, tears, and emotion, and changed into a university tee and some comfortable jogger shorts, I decided to call my friend, Rey. She was also a model like me, signed to IMG and dreamt of modeling since 7 years old. We're practically twins, the only difference is that she had a British accent since she grew up in London but isn't actually British. At present, she was in Paris for fashion week. I stayed in New York since November was a busy month for me. I had booked many advertisement campaigns from Guess to Gucci to Prada. "Hey Candace," She greeted. "How are you? I miss you loads,"
"I'm great," I lied, and I lied terribly.
"What's up? Is there something wrong?" She asked, immediately picking up that I had a problem only from my mood and the tone of my voice.
Within a second, I gathered myself and promised myself that I wouldn't erupt into tears. I didn't want her to hear me crying over the phone. "Well, Matt and I broke up," I said lowly.
"What?" She almost screamed in disbelief. "What do you mean broke up?"
"Well, we technically haven't officially broke up but...well, he cheated on me," I answered, trying to sound as calm and collected as possible.
"That asshole!" She exclaimed with both disgust and hate. "Let me talk to him and serve him a plate load of my shit!" Her outrageous though logical -logical to me- remark made me laugh. Thank God Rey never kept her sense of humor all to herself. Her always light mood was infectious and it helped a lot.
"I'm not with him right now," I informed.
"Where is he?" She asked, as if she was a cop searching for a thief that got past two fellows cops without getting noticed.
"He's at my apartment," I answered and she began scolding me slightly.
"Why is he at your apartment? Where are you? Why aren't you kicking him out? What th-"
"Calm down, okay." I said since I was getting more frustrated by her sudden outburst of anger. "I left my apartment. I'm now currently at a friend's house,"
Rey had demanded that I dump Matthew and kick him out of the house and told me that she'd come visit me Wednesday once she gets back from Paris which is four days from today. After several more minutes of talking to Rey, she had to get ready for a Chanel show so I ended the phone call and started watching some television. For some reason, television seemed boring to me at that very moment. Nothing was interesting. Nothing could take my mind off Matthew. Nothing except Colton. Browsing the channels, I came across lots of horror, drama, and romance tv series and movies but nothing caught my attention. In the end, I just watched a rerun episode of The Walking Dead to pass the ever-so-slow time.
After watching it and other watching about five hours of movies, I was bored as heck so I turned to my only eternally trustworthy and reliable friend: sleep. Since Colton had willingly offered, I walked to his room and lay on his comfortable bed, letting all distractions and worries fade away as I drift slowly to sleep.

I woke up suddenly. Still slightly disoriented, I looked at my phone without sitting up. 6:41 pm. I couldn't believe I spent most of the day -if not getting my heart shattered- watching television and sleeping. As a model, I was busy most of the time so I wasn't used to unproductiveness. I sat myself up and realized I was still in Colton's room. I walked out and into the living room with the intention of turning the tv on and watching some more since I didn't want Colton to arrive and catch me sleeping on his bed.
And as if everything that happened today wasn't unfortunate enough, I was too late.
The tv was already on and Colton was watching from the couch. He still had the clothes he wore to his meeting so I assumed he just arrived. "Just got here?" I asked, walking up to the couch and sitting beside him.
