Chapter 7

Caroline's POV

I  heard the bell and I quickly run to the office. Samuel was really kind to me I was nervous as hell.

- Thank you Samuel, see you later then? - I ask him as i started to walk backwards. He smiled and nodded to me.

- You know my number, use it. - he winked.

I knocked on an office door and someone yelled a come in to me. Great whoever was that she wasn't in a good mood. I went inside.

- Morning. I am new and I came to pick up my schedule. - the lady arched her eyebrows to me.

- Name?

- Oh.. Caroline West. - I tell her.

- There is no Caroline West  on my list, only Caroline Jade West. Is that you?

- Yes. - I swallowed. She started to put papers in front of me.

- Schedule, locker code, lunch card.

- Thanks. - I tell her and grab the papers.

- Goodbye.- She doesn't even look back at me. I sighed and get out from there. I started to check my schedule as someone bumped into me. I groaned as my bag and my papers landed on the floor.

- Shit. - I mumbled kneeling down.

- I am so sorry. - the guy told me as he started to help me. He looked at me confused. - Are you new? - I blushed a little and he chuckled. - I am Landon. - I quickly stand up and wave to him.

- Caroline.

- Nice to meet you, Caroline. - I smiled to him. - What's your first class? - he asks me. I started to get my schedule and read it out loud.

- Um... Biology.- I tell him.

- Cool. Same like me, come on I will walk you. - he started to walk beside me. We didn't really speak more. It was like that awkward silence between us. He opened one of the class door and we get in.

- Mr. Ryder you are late again. - a man told him. - You will get a detention after school.- Then his eyes snapped to mine. I started to play with my hair again. - and you?

- I am new, my name is Caroline West. - I tell him shyly.

- Sit down Miss West. - I sat down quickly. I sighed.

The day went on really slowly, I haven't seen the guys at lunch so I ate alone. Landon came to me to chat a little but Caitlyn called him off as she spotted him with me. She giggled with her friends.

After lunch I went to the bathroom and checked myself in a mirror when I see Caitlyn come in.

- So. Caroline? I was wondering which brother are you hot for? - she chuckles to me. - or Landon? - she comes close to me and checked me out.

- What's your problem? - I ask her smirking. Oh god she wants them all.

- Nothing. I want you far away from the brothers and Landon too. - she tells me seriously.

I laughed at her. I could be really bold sometimes. Her eyes got all wide. I shoved her away from me an run out. I just couldn't face her.

I skipped the next 2 classes and went home with bus.

I went inside my room lay down on my bed and listen to the music as loud as I can.
I heard my phone chimes but I don't care who it is. It could be Samuel or Xander or my dad. I don't care.

Tomorrow is Friday and party and I don't want to do it anymore.

Samuel's POV

I'm sitting down in chemistry, quickly writing the notes from the board. The door creaks open and the principal leans in, whispering something to the teacher, the teacher nods.

- Samuel, the principal would like a word. 1 says the teacher. I stand up, packing up my book, placing it in my bag and slinging it over my shoulder. I walk out of the classroom, the door swinging closed behind me.

I wonder why he wants to see me, I haven't done anything wrong.

- Samuel, I believe that Caroline Jade West is your stepsister? - Says the principal.

- Yeah, why? - I ask worriedly.

- She's truanted her last two lessons, we don't want to call her father or your mother yet, so will you be able to talk to her this afternoon. - replies the principal.

I'm stunned. I though she was a good kid, like we've all got problems, but this is her first day. I go to walk back inside, just as the final bell rings.

I rush outside to my car.

- Where the hell is Xander? - I mutter. I look around, I see him talking with his friends. I run over to him. - Take my bag and the keys, I'm running home. - I say hastily, throwing my bag and keys at him. I know Xander will be awhile, especially now he's got the keys.

I run home, hardly able to stretch out my stride in my jean shorts. It takes just over 15 minutes,  but I make it home, panting and exhausted. Mum's car is gone and the door is wide open, I know Caroline is here by herself now. I walk in, recovering my breath, I can hear Caroline playing music.

I burst in through her door, she stops playing and looks at me in shock.

- What the hell are you doing? - I say, trying to control my anger.

- What do you want? - Shouts Caroline, throwing a pillow at me. I catch the pillow and drop it on the ground,

- Why did you skip class? - I sigh walking towards her. Caroline sits up on her bed.

- I-I just couldn't, Caitlyn had a go at me again, I had to get away. And where were you? You said you'd be there! - Spits Caroline, tears in her eyes.
