Chapter 23

Samuel's POV

I sit in the taxi, silently anticipating my meeting. The taxi pulls over and I pay him, quickly walking into the building my mum works and going into reception.

- Um, hello my name is Samuel, I'm here for a meeting about a scholarship. - I say politely.

- Yep, just take a seat over there and the boss will call you in when he's ready. - smiles the receptionist. I smile and thank her, turning around and sitting in the seats opposite the reception desk.

- Samuel... - calls out a middle-aged man, poking his head out the door way.

- Hello, that's me. - I say, standing up and walking towards him.

- Hello, nice to meet you, please come in. - greets the boss. I reply pleasantries and walk into the office. The boss explains to me all about the scholarship, why I'm eligible, what I get from it, what I can't do, all the boring stuff. He explains that I'll know my results in a couple days once everyone else has meetings.

After the meeting is over, I shake the mans hand and walk out.

-  Samuel. - calls my mum, I walk over to her. - Thank you for coming, you look so handsome dressed up. - smiles my mum.

- Thanks. - I reply.

- Instead of getting a taxi again, I've organized for someone to take you home in my car, I'm going out tonight. - says my mum gleefully.

- Okay, I'll see you later then. - I reply, walking back out of the building and onto the streets.

I see my mum's car pull up beside me and I climb into the passenger seat.

- Hey Sammy! - cheers Rose, placing her hand on my leg. I nearly have a heart attack from shock. Why the hell would my mum want her to drive me home?

Caroline's POV

Me and Xander were playing in our lounge on the ps4. It was really late already I checked the clock and it was 11pm.

I stopped playing and I went to the window when I heard a car parking outside. I looked outside and see Samuel coming out from it then I see Rose coming out from the driver seat.

- What the fuck? - I stand there dumbstruck. Xander came behind me and snickered.

- Bitch. - he swears a lot more than that but I didn't heard anymore of that as I run outside towards Rose first. Xander after me.

- Caroline!!! - they shouted after me as I grabbed Rose hair.

- You fucking bitch!!! Stay away from us!! - I pushed her to the ground. - If I see you close to him one more time I will slap you so hard you won't ever get up again!!! - I shout. She got up and she looked really upset. Great that's what I wanted.

- Who the hell do you think you are? - she asks me. - I just drove home my boyfriend.

- I am not your boyfriend, Rose. - he tells her really calm.

- I have had enough of this.- I tell him and Rose all together. - I ... I have had enough of this shit. I am finished with all of you. - I tell them and I run back to the house shutting my door.

My guitar was my safety but even playing won't help me right now.
I could freak out or just pack up and go to a hotel by myself. Yeah I chose the second one then I could freak out. I quickly packed up some stuff and my guitar.
I take my dad's car keys. I heard Samuel.

- Caroline, where are you going?

- I...

Samuel's POV

- I am getting away from you, dog! - Spits Caroline.

- Stop, I didn't do anything with her! - I plead, trying to grab her arm but she shrugs me off.

- Really? You were gone for how long? And all that was, was the time it took for her to drive you home? - questions Caroline.

- No, she pulled over and kept trying to talk to me. So I talked to her, and told her I found someone else. - I reply, Caroline scoffs, throwing open the door of her Dad's car and starting the engine.

- Caroline stop, you aren't driving like that. Driving when you're that upset will get you killed. - reasons Xander.

- I don't care! Now both of you move. - shouts Caroline.

- Rose doesn't want to get with me okay?! - I shout in frustration. I reach down and pull the keys out from the ignition.

- Really? Whatever I'll walk then. - says Caroline sourly. I grab Caroline's hand, not letting her break free.

- Rose wanted to talk to me, not to get back together with me, she was genuinely worried about my operation. And she wanted to tell me that she didn't come back here to make trouble for me, she came back because her mum died not long ago. She has no one and she needed somewhere to live, so she moved back to the first place she called home, but I am never getting back with her Caroline. - I explain.

- How do I know that's the truth? - Mutters Caroline. I look to Xander.

- You two need time to work this out, I'll go for a drive and see you both later. - says Xander, taking the keys from my hand and driving off in the car.

- Just please come inside with me. - I say, vulnerable and weak. Caroline nods, we walk inside and sit on the lounge.

- What do you want to say then? - Asks Caroline blankly.

- This... - I answer, placing my hand behind her head and kissing her deeply on the lips. Caroline is hesitant but kisses me back, I break the kiss and see Caroline smile slightly. - I love you. - I say happily.
