Hate loving you! A Luke Brooks fanfic

Chapter 15

BETHANY'S POV

So the teams were me, Abbi, Jai, Daniel, Aaron, Bridget (girl in my science and maths class) and some dude i vaguely remember from school I think his name is Ron. It's probably short for Ronald or Ronaldo like the footballer. I don't think we had any team captains we just played our own little made up version of volleyball, heck I don't know how the proper game of volleyball goes.

The opposing team was Beau, James, Luke (oh he's going down) Tim and 3 other guys who I think just joined for the fun of it. Hmm even though their team was made up of all boys I still won't back down to try and defeat them. We have to win this!

I was moving over to my position on the sand and my team were behind a rope which we had found and placed so that the teams can be divided and we know where the farthest point is where we can stand and dodge the ball, this is more like dodgeball than volleyball but we're to excited to care about what we call this game that we traditionally play especially at the beach.

"Get ready to face defeat Beth" called out a familiar voice. "I've never heard of such a thing in my dictionary but I know you have plenty of times in yours Beau bear" I smirked at Beau as everyone who heard started laughing.

"Guys I'd like to start the game now before it turns pitch dark and we can't play for shit" Luke pitched in. I just rolled my eyes. Typical Luke.

This guy who I didn't even notice came and stood in the middle of our teams and looked quite bored, he chucked the volleyball up in the air and I instinctively hit the ball hard on the opposite teams side and it landed on the floor. "That ladies and gentlemen is how you start of a game" Aaron smirked at the other team whilst high fiving me. I smirked at Luke who's jaw was dropped and then he quickly turned his face into a scowl.

As the game continued me, Aaron, Jai and Daniel had scored a point each making it 4-2 as only Luke and James had scored on the other team. By this time we had formed quite a big crowd who came over to watch out competitive game.

The ball came near Abbi and she squealed, I forgot she hates sports, but mainly volleyball as it could damage her 'face' or 'nails' Abbi is a sporty outdoorsy person but she just doesn't like feeling exposed to this type of 'danger' as she calls it, so Daniel comes in front and hits the ball away from Abbi to protect her and I just found that so adorable. "Awww" I cooed. The rest just chuckled.

After both teams were on a draw 7-7 this last shot would definitely show who has won and who has lost, I obviously have to give my everything to be able to win as Luke's team had caught up to us quite quickly as they took advantage of my shortness. I'm not actually short I would consider myself at normal height it's just the other guys on Luke's team are like 6 foot and suddenly came in front to score a few points.

The same bored guy who seemed quite interested in the game now lifted the ball again and threw it in the air, I needed to score the winning shot so I gave it my everything I ran for the ball to hit it and to my 'great' luck I hit against a hard body which made me groan and I ended up twisting over because of the rope on the floor and somehow i ended up underneath someone, they had gripped onto my waist from the impact and their body crushed mine. For the whole of this time my eyes were closed tightly shut but then I opened them to find ...

"Luke?" I gasped wide eyed.

I know I haven't updated in like 2 months I'm a horrible person but I'm in year 11 and had my important exams! I have 2 more left and after that 3 months of relaxing! Hopefully that will mean uploading often! :) xx
