Chapter 22

LUKES POV

"48..49..50.. Finally" I thought as I started to move towards anywhere in this house, it's not really helping that I can't see a thing.

Only vaguely can I make out some outlines of objects.. I guess my eyes have adjusted to the dark.

I heard a sound coming from the kitchen? Yeah I think it's the kitchen.. Well time to walk towards it.

BETHANY'S POV

I made my way towards the kitchen since everyone goes for the typical 'hiding in the bedroom' crap.. I couldn't see anything so I used my iPhone flashlight to figure out where exactly everything is and which will be the best corner to hide.

Hmm maybe I can hide underneath the table, I wonder where everyone else is though, especially Abbi I thought we were in this together but I guess she's gone with Daniel to do.. things.. Urgh, a shudder went down my spine and not the good kind. Is there even a good kind? Hmm probably.

I made my way over to the cupboards but most of them are filled with stuff like dishes or cleaning products and the ones that are nearly empty, well I can't fit in those! So I guess hiding underneath the kitchen table it is.

I couldn't hear Luke counting anymore so I quickly turned off my iPhone flashlight just in case he sees a bright light shining in the dark, which would resort in him finding me first and I don't wanna lose.. As you probably know by now i'm very competitive but my competitiveness can be sometimes seen as childishness.. But I'm not childish!

As I made my way underneath the table which was covered in a big cloth thing that covers the whole table upto about midway towards the ground I accidentally bumped my head on it.. "Ouch!" I hissed, wow nice one Beth.

I heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen so I quickly went underneath the table and prayed Luke wouldn't find me here.

I heard something dripping on the floor and my whole back was wet, that's when I noticed my hair was still dripping wet and it was making dripping sounds on the floor so I quickly put my hair to the side and squeezed all the excess water from it.. Phew at least the dripping has stopped.

LUKE'S POV

I made my way towards the kitchen and I slipped on something wet.

"Ah f*ck" I groaned as my butt connected to the ground with full force. Yeah that's gonna leave a mark.

I heard a gasp to my left and I turned my head and saw a figure underneath the table. I quickly pulled the table cloth up and saw Bethany?

"Beth?" I asked.

"Oh shoot" Bethany replied whilst covering her mouth.

Ha!

"Well, well look who I found first" I said with a smirk

"OMG seriously, I really wanted to win this stupid game" Bethany whined like a kid.

"Look, unfortunately for you, you lost and fortunately for me I have a partner to help me find the others but unfortunately it has to be you" I stated.

"Well isn't it your lucky day?" Bethany replied sarcastically.

"Just get up and help me find the rest" I rolled my eyes as I stood up, Bethany got out from underneath the table and I could just about see what the cause of my slip was... Yeah it had to be Bethany's still wet hair.

"You know, you should really put a towel on your hair to keep it from dripping everywhere and causing people to slip" I stated.

"Well excuse me for leaving the towel in the bathroom cuz I thought Aaron would have some hair dryers around" Bethany retorted.

"Lets just go, we'll check upstairs first since that's where everyone typically hides first" I suggested, as we made our way out of the kitchen to the stairs.

We made our way upstairs and I felt someone stand quite close to me..

"Do you mind, you're in my personal bubble"

"Well I-I I didn't see you there" Bethany replied whilst stuttering.

"But I'm standing right next to you how didn't you see me?" I asked.

"Luke just be quiet okay I'm totally not scared right now"

What she was scared? but I didn't even mention that what?

"I didn't even say you were scared though... Oh I get it you're afraid aren't you?" I smirked.

"Urgh look this house is creepy okay and it's even more creepy now that it's dark here and it's starting to get windy outside and the wind makes some creepy sounds and oh yeah we're right at the top of a mountain in a strange home that is in a beautiful but deserted area, now does that not freak you out?" Bethany exclaimed.

Ehh she's got a point but I'm not scared, but this should be fun. I mentally grinned.

"Not really no, and will you keep it low we don't want the others to know we're close to them or else they'll be alert" I told Bethany as she started to look around the empty hallway.

We started to walk further down the hallway the wind suddenly became stronger and Bethany clung to me for dear life.

"Oh my God, I'm scared okay I'm scared I don't like this at all" Bethany said whilst she buried her head near my arm.

Hm I'm kinda enjoying this moment right now

Weird

But obviously moments don't last very long and we heard a person who goes by the name of Beau laughing in the far end room, so Beth quickly let go of me and ran towards it opening the door and yelling "HA!"

I heard Beau groan and Jai saying "well done d*ckhead you just caught us out" haha at least we've got 2 more to join our team and find the rest.

That is it for this chapter, sorry for the extremely late update but I had writers block and exams and I had no inspiration in writing but tons in reading but I've finally updated and hopefully I'll update again in about a weeks time..
