Hate loving you! A Luke Brooks fanfic

Chapter 9

BETHANY'S POV

I was getting ready to go over to the brooks' house today Abbi and Lucy were going to collect me at 8pm, it was now 7.30pm I just finished having my shower and blow dried my hair and then straightened it. I was wearing a crop top and shorts with white vans. I wore minimal makeup, a bit of eyeliner, mascara and light foundation and some pink lip gloss.

The door knocked so I quickly got my iPhone and hurried downstairs grabbing my jacket in case it got cold out, I opened the door and saw Lucy, Abbi was waiting in the car so me and Lucy went inside the car and we were on our way to the brooks' house. I asked Ryan if he would like to come with us before but he had some family thing going on, they were going to visit his grandparents in Adelaide for two days. Whilst we were on our way we were listening to One direction 'they don't know about us', I love that song! We were all singing along to it!

We then arrived and Abbi parked in their driveway and we made our way inside their house the door was open like always and we walked straight in, we treat it like as if it were our own home because we have known the boys for so long and they do the same to ours aswell! I saw all of the boys on the couches and Daniel and Jai were playing cod whilst Beau and James were watching and Luke was on the laptop, I think he was on tumblr not sure.

"Hey guys" I greeted them. "Hey Beth I love you and all but not now" Jai said whilst trying to play cod. "Yeah" Daniel backed Jai. "Hey Beth, how are you's?" James said. "Yeah hey guys" Beau said waving at us. "Hey and I'm good thanks, what about yourself?" I asked James. "I'm good" James replied. Me Abbi and Lucy sat down on the couch and we just started talking.

"I can only stay for like an hour cause I have to go drop my sister off to the airport she's going to tour England with her friends" Lucy said. Lucy's sister Lauren is 21 and she's always wanted to travel the world, I guess she's gonna start of with England. "Wow, how long is she gonna stay in England for?" I asked. "About 2 months mabey longer depending on how much she likes it there" Lucy replied. "I'd love to go to England" Beau said. "Yeah me too I have a cousin there who I would love to meet" James said. "You two are compete opposites aren't you, Lauren is so wild she would go anywhere and she doesn't give a damn about finding a job or anything whereas you're hardworking and completely different from her" Abbi said. "Hope that's not a bad thing!" Lucy said. "Ofcourse not but sometimes Lucy you need to let loose too, but other than that you're perfect" Abbi replied. "I agree" I said.

Just then Lucy's phone started ringing and she answered the phone and left the room. "Hmm, i wonder what that was about.." I said curiously. "You know you should really mind your own business Bethany" Luke said raising his eyebrows. "Oh, so you really want to start another argument with me now Luke? Cuz I've got some pretty good comebacks that will leave you gob smacked" I replied raising my eyebrows. "Oh do you now?" Luke replied sarcastically. "Oh my god, just shut up before I lock you two in a room together and throw away the key" Beau said frustrated with the whole argument. "Ew, I would never want to stay in the same room as that animal... Oh no wait thats an insult to animals" Luke smirked. Okay now that really ticked me off, I stomped my way to where Luke was sitting, he quickly raised his legs and arms in defence and I was about to tackle him when I heard a scream.

"What the... Lucy!" Beau yelled. "Calm yo tits Beau that's her happy scream" I said. "Yes don't you know the differences between a happy scream and a unhappy scream?" Abbi asked Beau. "Well sorry for not doing my scream research..and anyways all types of screams sound exactly the same to me so.." Beau defended himself. Lucy came back into the room and we all waited for her to talk. "Well..??" I asked eager for an answer. "Umm, well you know how you and Abbi and pretty much everyone else are always telling me to let loose and take risks.." Lucy asked. "Yeaahh.. And?" Abbi asked. "Well umm mabey today's the day I get to finally let loose and take a major risk...I've been offered a job to become a hairstylist for well known models! I did my work experience and they thought I was really talented and a huge hair company have offered me a job!" Lucy said over joyed. "Oh my goshhh" me and Abbi screamed and ran over to hug Lucy and all the boys joined and we all had a great big group hug.

"Guys...GUYS!" Lucy yelled and we all pulled away from our group hug. "What?" James asked. "Well, the only thing that is making me have second thoughts is that.." Lucy trailed on. "No No you are not going to have second thoughts, with this big opportunity your life could be made Luce, think about it your dream job, great pay, meeting famous models and even celebrities.."I was interrupted.

"And living in New Zealand away from all my friends and my family" Lucy said quietly but loud enough for us all to hear. The room fell silent. "Wh..what?" my voice cracked. "What do you mean Luce away from us? New Zealand?" Abbi asked worried. "Yeah they have offered me the job in New Zealand... Do you guys still want me to take it?" Lucy asked.

"No, Lucy you're our friend, you're like a sister to me if you left then we'd all feel incomplete, and you're the only girl in our little friendship group that I can talk to" Luke said. I just rolled my eyes. "What? Do I look like a gorilla to you Luke?" Abbi asked shocked that he didn't mention her. "Oh c'mon Abbi all you talk about is shoes, clothes, makeup oh and more shoes and now you even talk about skip, he's the only important guy in your life now" Luke tried justifying himself. "Aww Lukey I didn't know you felt that way" Abbi replied sympathetically. Seriously?? "No Lucy you have to go" I snapped. "What?" Jai half yelled. "No Beth what are you saying? Are you out of your mind we're not going to let Lucy live so far away from her comfort zone" James backed Jai and Luke. "Yeah Beth, I thought you cared about Lucy" Beau continued the argument.

"What no I do care, what I'm trying to say is" Abbi cut me off, "No Beth please Lucy is our best friend, Why are you so adamant in her leaving?" Abbi said. "No.. What I meant was" I got cut off again! "No guys Beth is right I should take this job offer and anyways I'll be back for the holidays in 2 months and I'll be there with my auntie, whatever her name is I forgot, it doesn't matter now I've made my decision Beth's right" Lucy said whilst putting her hand around my waist and giving me a side hug. "I have to leave tomorrow night soo will anyone give me a hand in packing?" Lucy asked.

Everyone was sulking. Seriously do they not get it I was doing this FOR Lucy, because I don't wanna be the one holding her back from doing her DREAM job which she has dreamt of doing since she was a foetus! I know how much this means to her and if we all had said no, then I know for a fact she would have given up on her dream, she just needed that one yes from anyone of us to motivate her to do this. Sure her going away would pain me a little inside and break my heart but when she's successful all the pain in my heart will be worth it. Lucy's mum used to be a hairdresser and she always used to take me and Lucy sometimes to her workplace and Lucy was always fascinated when she used to see her mum style and cut people's hair. I know how much this means to her and if it means coming across as the bad guy to my friends then so be it. I can't be the one to ruin her dream. "I'll help you pack" I said happily. The others just walked away from us and sat down on the couch.

"Thanks Bethany, you're the only one that truly understands why I'm doing this, I want to make my mum proud by doing the things that I love and she loved them too" a tear crept out of Lucy's eye, which caused me to start the waterworks too. "Yeah I'm pretty sure that Mrs Brown is looking down at you and smiling right now, you've chosen the right thing Luce" I said. Mrs brown is Lucy's late mother who died of cancer when Lucy was 11 I have so much admiration for Lucy she coped so well even I wouldn't have coped as well as she coped. I just hope the others understand where I'm coming from...

I think this is the longest chapter I have ever done I just kept on writing and writing!

So do you guys think that they would forgive Bethany for being the reason why Lucy is leaving? Poor Beth :/
