After they arrived at Lyric’s house, Lyric invited Brian to stay for a bit. They both didn’t have plans for the day, and since Lyric’s laptop was broke and she had to wait for her new one to be ordered, it’s not like she could work either.

So they spent the whole day at her house, sitting on the couch, watching TV, getting to know each other a little better, just hanging out and having a good time.

When 5:45 rolled around, Brian and Lyric were both asleep on her tiny couch. Brian’s arm was draped loosely around Lyric’s waist, while Lyric’s face was buried in the crook of Brian’s neck.

A faint noise could be heard, coming from somewhere in the living room. It sounded a lot like a Metallica song. Brian was in too deep of a sleep to hear it, and Lyric chose to ignore it and try to fall back asleep.

A few minutes later, what not only sounded like an Avenged Sevenfold song, but what was an Avenged Sevenfold song was coming from the coffee table.

Lyric sat up sleepily, Brian’s hand still around her, and looked around for the source of the music. Then remembering that “Afterlife” was her ringtone, she located her phone. Gently lifting Brian’s arm, she slipped off the sofa and answered her phone, not bothering to look at her caller ID.

            “Hello?”

“Hey Lyric. What’s up?” Her brother answered on the other side of the phone.

The first thing that crossed Lyric’s mind wasn’t about what to say to Zacky, but the though that if Brian wakes up and Zack finds out Brian is over... they were both dead!

So she walked into the foyer, hoping Brian wouldn’t come looking for her if he got up. “Hey. Not much, I fell asleep on the couch. What are you doing?”

“Eh, the usual,” he responded, not that Lyric knew what the usual was, but she went along with it. “I actually just called Brian a few times, but he wouldn’t answer. He’s probably busy.” Zacky continued, and Lyric almost choked at the hidden meaning. She didn’t need those mental images of Brian’ being… busy as Zacky called it. “So I figured since he’s not available, how bout I come pick you up and we go out to Johnny’s Bar. I thought it’d be the perfect chance for us to catch up. Whaddya say?”

Lyric thought about it for a moment, before saying, “Sure. Just uh… gimme an hour to get a shower and get ready?”

“Sure. See ya at 7 sis,” Zacky said before hanging up.

Now Lyric had an hour to wake Brian up, get him out of her house, take a shower, and get ready. Easy, right?

“Brian,” Lyric said softly, shaking his arm. “Brian wake up,” she tried a little louder, but nothing was working. She had been trying for five minutes now, and it was cutting into her hair and make-up time… something she couldn’t afford to lose much off.

“Brian!” She finally yelled, startling Brian, making him jump into a sitting position on the couch.

“What the fuck was that for?” He yawning and stretched his arms about his head, groaning as his body let out a few audible pops.
