Sorry it took me so long to update, I had shit I had to do... emergency babysitting for my aunt, haircut, and A7X concert!!! <3 anyways.. ENJOY :D

Things were going quite well for the Avenged Sevenfold family in the days leading up to Thanksgiving. Including the celebration of Johnny Christ’s 23rd birthday.

Johnny woke up Sunday morning at noon. It was the first time this week he had woken up before 2 pm. It was also the first time he hadn’t woken up with a screaming headache from a hangover.

He excitedly threw his covers off, grabbed his phone and made his way downstairs. Walking into the kitchen, hungry for Eggos, he popped some in the toaster while he got syrup and beer out.

“Nothing like Eggos and fucking beer for my birthday breakfast,” he happily half-sang to himself as put his Eggos on the plate and buttered them.

Sitting down to eat, he checked his phone, hoping to see at least one message or missed call, but to his dismay, he didn’t. He sighed, shrugged his shoulders, then cracked open his beer and took a swig before digging in to his mountain of Eggos piled on his plate.

Johnny waited practically all day for any sort of sign that his friends had remembered it was his birthday today, but it wasn’t until almost 5:30 when he finally got a call. Looking at the caller ID, he was surprised to see it was Lyric’s name flashing across his screen.

Smiling, he answered his phone. “Hello?”

“Hey Johnny,” she responded, and he expected her to then wish him a happy birthday, or invite him over to one of the guy’s house for a party, but what he didn’t expect her to say was, “I know you probably already have plans tonight, but I was wondering if you wanted to go out to dinner with me tonight… strictly as friends that is,” she quickly added, not wanting him to think it was a date.

He almost choked on his spit, but gladly accepted his offer, figuring maybe all the guys would be there and it’d turn out to be a surprise party. “Sure, I’d love to,” he told her.

She insisted that she would pick him up at his house and after he gave her his address, he ran upstairs to get dressed.

Johnny was pulling his jeans on when the doorbell rang. He swiftly grabbed his belt off his bed, trying to put it through the loops as he raced to the door.

When he opened the door, Lyric saw him attempting to put his belt on. He have her an small apologetic smile.

“Sorry,” he mumbled. “Why don’t you come in?” Johnny said, moving out of the way as she walked into his cozy home.            It wasn’t what she expected, not in the least.

Knowing that Johnny was most of the time classified as the drunk of the band, she didn’t expect his house to be tidy. She imagined the coffee table to be full of empty beer cans, last week’s pizza box peaking out from under the couch, nacho crumbs scattered around the living room. Really, anything but what she was seeing.

Lyric must have been gaping at the sight because Johnny cleared his throat and spoke, “So… uh, is there any specific reason why you wanted to go out, as friends, tonight?” directing her attention to him instead.

“Well I feel like I’m getting to know everyone in the band except for you. Zacky I’ve know all my life, Brian… well I’m not even gonna go there, Matt and I hung out the other day, and Jimmy’s so friendly and I already feel like I’ve known him for a lifetime. But you, I’ve seen you only once since my welcoming party,” she said, then looked down at her shoes. “Besides, it’s kind of a special day today,” she added.

Johnny silently cheered in his head! She knows it’s my birthday! “Oh really? And why would that be?” he asked, decided to play dumb.

“Christ, Johnny,” she punned, “And you call yourself a Metallica fan! Today is Kirk Hammett’s 45th birthday!” She announced in a dead serious tone.

All Johnny could do was stare at her, and stop himself from almost choking on his own spit for the second time today.

Awww. Poor JC... no one seems to remember its HIS birthday ): to be honest I had part of this chapter written, then rememebed his bday comes like 4 days before Thanksgiving so I had to rewrite it.
