So Lyric and Brian set off on a walk to the café down the street, hand in hand. To everyone on the street who saw them, they looked like the perfect couple, but in reality, that was the farthest thing from the truth.

Lyric was secretly freaking out inside her head, worried that Zack was going to see them and hate Brian even more. It’s okay if he hates me, she lied to herself. He hasn’t been in my life for the past seven years, but she wasn’t having much luck trying to convince herself that she didn’t care about Zacky. He’s my brother for God sake! We shouldn’t let Brian come between us!

Synyster couldn’t get last night out of his head. He’d never seen Zacky so upset. He felt bad knowing that he caused that pain, but it wasn’t his fault that Zacky was so protective of his sister. I know he really cares about her and is glad he just got her back in his life, but he knows me almost better than I know myself. I’d never hurt Lyric if she were mine.

They were sitting at one of the small tables in the back. Lyric was staring out the window, watching the kids play in the park across the street and Brian was playing with his coffee cup and stealing glances at Lyric.

Neither of them really knew what to say. They each wanted to ask so many questions, but had no idea how to start.

“Let’s play a game,” Brian said, and Lyric had been so distracted that it had taken her a few moments to realize that he had spoken.

“What kind of game?” She asked, talking a sip of her coffee and taking off Syn’s jacket that she was wearing, because now that she was inside, she was warming up.

“A game where we take turns asking each other questions.” He told her. “I’ll ask first,” he said, not waiting for her answer.

“What’s your favorite band?” He asked, finishing his coffee.

Lyric laughed out loud, earning some weird looks from some of the other customers. Synyster just stared at her, looking puzzled.

            “What’s so funny?”

“You are!” She chuckled, covering her mouth in an attempt to quiet her laughter.

“You still never answered my question” Brian whined.

“Fine. My favorite band is Avenged Sevenfold,” Lyric told him, drinking her coffee.

“Really?” Brian questioned, his eyes lighting up and smiling.

“Why would I lie to you? Of course A7X is my favorite band. And it’s not just because my brother is in it. I started listening to you guys when the first album came out, and that’s how I found out what my crazy brother was doing. Ever since then I was able to keep tabs on him.” She said, looking down at her tattoo and grinning.

“Is that a tattoo that I see?” He asked her, leaning over the table, trying to get a better look,

“I believe it’s my turn to ask a question,” she tsked, before taking her turn in asking a question. “What is your biggest pet peeve?”

“People touching my guitars. The only people allowed to touch them besides me is my guitar tech, Shadows, my dad, and Zacky,” he answered, then paused for a moment before saying, “So… What’s the scoop on that tattoo of yours? Have any others?”
