Best Friend or Boyfriend

   It has been fifteen minutes minutes since the Endo clan began to raid. We haven't made it far from my house. Maybe half a mile and the entrance is still another mile away.

   It's been hard trying to travel without being seen. The four of us may be be strong but even Gara would barley be able to make it past an Endo clan member. Shocking I know.

   I felt like there is something I am forgetting and I haven't been able to put my finger on it.

   Right now we were crouching behind a cluster of garbage bins. Two Endo clan members were destroying an animal shelter. They couldn't be much older than ourselves.

   Animal shelter!

   "Akamaru." I whispered. I looked around trying to get my bearings on where I am. The veterinarian building was not two streets to the west from hear. I have to try.

  "You okay?" Shikamaru raised his eyebrow.
  "You guys go on ahead." I whispered loud enough for them to hear.

  "What?" Shikamaru said shocked.
 
  "No." Kiba sounded angry as he spoken the one syllable word.

  "Why?" Gara was clearly confused.

  "I'll be fine. I left something behind that means the world to someone special to me. It means alot to me also." I explained quickly.

  Al three of them opened there mouth to object.

  "No talking me out of it. You three go. I'll be right behind you." I stood my ground. 

  "We would but can't." Shikamaru pointed to the two big oafs just across the street from us.

  "I got it." I smirked. "Just as you make your way out of the village if you see children get them out to. As many as you can. Adults to if possible." I gave them a look telling them I mean business. I snapped my head from them to the two Endo clan oafs. "Shadow Procession Jutsu."

  "Dude I can't move." One of the Endo clan members explained. 

  "Me neither." The shorter one gasped.

  "Go. I can't hold them long." I said trying to focus.

   Gara and Shikamaru took off realizing there was no  debating. Kiba on the other hand was being stubborn.

  "I'll come with you." He stated looking for me to the two people trapped by my Shadow Possession.

  "No." I said through gritted teeth.

  "Aiko I am not letting.."

   My head snapped to look at him."Kiba. Please go." I almost pleaded.

  Kiba looked from the Endo clan members to me one last time. "Be quick and please whatever you do me careful. Nothing is worth loosing you to them." His gazed lingered on me for a short time before he left.

  "Trust me. You would think differently if you knew what I was going after." To myself. I started to wonder why he hadn't brought up Akamaru yet.

  They two young men finally broke my hold on them. Told you they were strong didn't I? I stood up and back towards the road too where Akamaru was.

  Once I was around the corner I sprang into a run. I had to be quick. In a short time I was inside the building Akamaru was in.

  I went cage to cage looking for him. Anytime I came upon a cage I would open it for the poor animal inside. At least giving it a chance. At the last cage I saw Akamaru. He looked completely fine. I glanced at his papers. 'Adoption open' was written in blue on a small slip of paper.
