Washington was walking up and down the base halls. It was late at night and you were beginning to wake up. "O-oh! (Y/N)! What are you doing up?" He questioned. "Well, I couldn't help but hear your boots thumping down the halls," you answered smart assedly. He wanted to tell you his feelings for you but he couldn't. As you went to go to bed, you heard him mumble something. So, the next morning you got up and put your armor on, leaving the helmet off. You walked down the halls to the mess hall. You greeted everyone. Then you crossed church. "Hey, (Y/N) have you seen Wash around?" He asked. You replied "No, I have not sorry." You knew where he was. He was in his room. So being curious you go to his room. You overhear him talking to Texas. He was working on how he was going to present his feelings and he was practicing with Tex. "Tex, I have always liked you and I just wanted to say this. I think you are the most beautiful, lovely-est, person I've ever met, and I'd love to be with you," he stated. You liked him also, but you got the wrong idea. So you ran to your room, sobbing. Washington heard your sobbing, and how your boots got quieter as you were farther down the hall. He followed you. When you reached your room, you locked the door and sat on your bed. Unaware you didn't know Wash followed. He knew you had overheard his conversation with Texas. He knocked. You screamed, "What! What do you want!?" Wash calmly answered, "You know I was not expecting you to hear that." "Hear what, hear how you feel about Texas!?" You cried. "(STATE NAME), (Y/N), unlock the door, it's about Time I tell you this," he said firmly. So you did as he said. He sat next to you on the bed." (Y/N), what I said to Tex was what I was going to say to you. I love you." He said softly. Soon your lips were met with his. You felt instantly better... That thing he mumbled was "I love you."
