Chapter 24

-Kadence-
I look towards the brat that people call my daughter. Laken looks up at me.
"Who was that momma?" She asks. I glare at her and she flinches.
"I told you to never call me momma. You will call me Kadence just like everyone else." I growl at her. She nods and moves to the other side of the room. I should have put her up for adoption so long ago. But my mom would have kicked me out. Maybe I should let Isaac see his brat. That way he can just keep her. Maybe.

We all sit in the living room and start a movie. Isaac is stretched across the couch with his head on my lap. I play with his hair and he slowly drifts to sleep. Suddenly my phone goes off, causing Isaac to fall in the floor. I grab my phone and answer it.
"Hello?" I ask.
"Tell Isaac he can see Laken. Tomorrow at the Black Rose Park. Noon. If he's not there he won't get another chance." Kadence says before hanging up.
"What was that?" Isaac asks, and Remi looks at me questioningly.
"Kadence said you can see Laken tomorrow at noon. The Black Rose Park." I tell him. He nods. He climbs back onto the couch. I play with his hair again before leaning down and kissing his cheek. "We should probably go to bed if we want to be up by eleven." I tell Isaac he nods softly and stands up. I turn to Remi and she smiles at us both softly. "You can just pick a room. Sorry we can't hangout some more." I tell her she nods.
"It's OK I know how important Laken is to you guys. Is it OK if I go with you guys tomorrow?" She asks. She doesn't get an answer before all our other friends walk out of the rooms they were in.
"We are all going." Zeke says. "That way we can all new the new addition to our great big family." I smile at him. Everyone agrees so we all head towards our rooms again. Lily looks at me for a moment.
"We want to go with and meet your baby girl." She says to me and Isaac. Isaac grins and nods. Finally walking to our room I strip into my underwear. Isaac gasps.
"Did you really just do that?" He asks. I roll my eyes and put on my pajamas, fluffy shorts and a see through shirt. Climbing into bed I wait for Isaac to join me. When he doesn't I roll over. He is still standing there mouth hung open in amazement.
"Why do you look so amazed?" I ask. He just shakes his head and strips into his boxers. "You've see it before." I point out and he chuckles. He climbs in next to me, and I curl into him. Tomorrow is going to be interesting, is my last though before I drift off to sleep.

I wake up to hear Sabrina shouting at everyone. I groan, but then remember why she is in a rush. I climb out of bed and pull on my clothes. Walking downstairs I see everyone, but Lily already in the living room. Lily walks in a few seconds later.
"Time to go." Sabrina says and we all pile into vehicles. We begin the thirty minute drive to the park. Sabrina turns on the radio, and sings along to the Panic! At The Disco song that is playing.
All you sinners stand up.

"You know you have an amazing voice, right?" Remi asks her. Sabrina blushes and stops singing.
"She's right. You do have a beautiful singing voice." I tell her. She shrugs, but doesn't say anything. Finally after 7 more songs we reach the park. I climb out and walk to the front of Sabrina's jeep. She grabs my hand and we walk towards a picnic table. I don't see Kadence yet, but we are a few minutes early. All of our friends come and sit around the table. We see a car pull up, and we all watch it intently. Cory watches the closest. For some reason she looks ten times more alert. I will have to ask her later. It turns out to be Kadence and she is definitely a horrible parent. She basically rips Laken from her car seat. I see Sabrina try to get up, but I hold her back with the help of Andy who is sitting under the table. Sabrina looks outraged. Kadence walks up, and looks over all of us.
"So you brought an army." She says. I can see the judgement in her eyes.
"No. We brought our family." Remi says, through gritted teeth. Kadence looks surprised.
"So that's where you went to." She says. "You went and joined a group of misfits." Her voice is smug, but I see the slight fear also. It shows in her posture.
"No I joined this beautiful family so I don't have to deal with people like you." Remi spits at her. Kadence pretends to be hurt. Cory stands up.
"I don't know you, but I know I don't like you. Let Isaac see his little girl before I beat you in front of her." She growls. Jacob grabs onto her hand to calm her down a little. Kadence rolls her eyes, but shoves Laken in front of her. "One more thing, shove that little girl again and I will ruin you." I stand and walk forward some.
"Hi Laken. How are you?" I ask. She smiles up at me.
"Are you my daddy?" She asks shyly. I nod, and Laken grins a toothy smile. She runs up to me and hugs my legs. I pick her up and hold her close.
"You look just like your daddy." Sabrina tell Laken. "I'm Sabrina. Your daddy's girlfriend." She tells her. She smiles. "Do you want to go back to your mommy now?" She asks. Laken shakes her head. "Why not?"
Laken leans over to Sabrina and whispers something in her ear. Sabrina's face is filled with pure rage.
"You don't let your own little girl call you her mother!" She shouts at Kadence. "You don't hold her or put her to sleep! You don't deserve that little girl!"
