And that's when I went all fangirl in the dark hallway.

I stood frozen and Iris slightly shook me.

"Hey! Alice it's okay. It's okay. Stop running away from love. I know you've been hurt before. But you need to stop running and welcome it" she shook my slightly again and I realised she was right. About everything.

"I'm scared Iris"

"I'm know you are. I know but it's okay to be scared. you're allowed to be scared. You're allowed to not be strong 24/7" she rubbed my arms and I pulled her into a hug.

"Now Alice I know you. You are going to over analyse everything. Don't.  Let it unfold on its own. Go with the flow. Let it happen on its own. Got me. Don't. Over think. Just be yourself and he'll love you either way"

"Nobody said he loved me"

"The way he looks at you says so"

"Iris he practically told me he's in love with some other girl!"

"Did he say a name?"

"No."

"Exactly. Don't over think things" she said and smiled at me.

"Okay. But promise me something? "

"Sure what? "

"If something happens and it upsets me. And I want to leave we go. We pack up and go immediately. No questions asked"

"Yeah sure on one condition"

"What?"

"You tell me while we pack. So that I can De ide how to castrate him" she smiled as I chucked.

"Sure why not" I nodded.

"Good.  Now let's join the others before Bridezilla explodes" she dragged me off to the others and we all set off to dinner together.

Iris glanced at me for the umpteenth time as I talk to Isaac- who is sitting next to me.

"How long have you been teaching?" Isaac asked and I took a sip of wine. I hate wine.

"I started at the beginning of the year" I smiled and he nodded. "And you how long have you been the big shot CEO? " I asked and he grinned.

"About three years"

"You know I don't even know how old you are" I said and sat a bit closer.

"I'm twenty five" he smiled and I raised a brow.

"How come your best mates with Cody. You're three years older?"

"Uh Cody and I grew up together"

"What? How did we not meet. I grew up with him aswell" I asked.

"You seriously can't remember? "

"No. What?"

"Alice. We used to be friends as kids. You. Me. Cody. All three of us grew up together."

"How is that possible.  You'd be in school with us and I'd remember you!"

"My family moved to New York when I was ten. You were seven at that time. You wouldn't remember me."

"I'm sorry Isaac.  I feel super crappy now"

"Don't. It's fine. We were small"

"So you- you know I am"

"An orphan.  Yes I know. You stayed with us as a foster child until you were three. But uh with my mother's cancer my dad couldn't afford to adopt you" he said and I was aware of the pain in his voice.
