I zipped the bag shut and Iris slid off the top. Yup, you guessed it I couldn't shut my suitcase and today was the day I was leaving. It's been three weeks and two days since I decided I'm leaving. I sold every single thing in this two bedroom apartment and I was ready to go.

"Let's go or you'll miss your plane" Iris said and she picked up one of my bags. Together we left the room and we walked into the completely empty living room and kitchen. A young girl was sitting in the kitchen with a bunch of her friends, they looked up as we entered the room.

"I'm off. Enjoy your time here girls, I've made some of the best memories in this apartment. Enjoy it and live life" I smiled and they cheered.

"Enjoy Greece, Miss, hope you find what you're looking for" Emily smiled.

I grinned and gave her a quick hug. Emily's older sister bought the apartment with a bunch of friends as they head off to college just like Iris and I a few years ago.

"Bye girls" we waved and loaded all my bags into Iris' car, since I sold mine she has to take me to the airport. Music softly played in the car and we just sat there. In silence.

"Are you guys going to talk or not?" Max asked from the backseat.

"Shush we are, cherishing each other's presence" she said and I chuckled.

"But you're supposed to talk non stop and promise to write and call and Skype each other. Not just sit there!" he sounded exasperated.

"Babe we don't have to do that we know well do it. For now we're just enjoying the other person. And if I'm going to start talking I'll never stop crying so shush" Iris said again and turned into the airport parking lot.

"Here we are" I breathed out.

"I don't like this place"

"Me neither it's like a hospital" I said.

"Yeah both places have crying people"

"And bad food"

"And exhaustion"

"And freedom" I whispered.

"How does a hospital? Nevermind" Max kept quiet when he met eyes with Iris.

"Let's go no point in wasting time" Iris said and got out of the car. Luckily Max carried most of the heavy stuff and us girls carried the carry on and stuff.

"Okay" Iris said as we entered the building.

"Okay" I gave her a reassuring smile.

"Fine"

"Great" I nodded. They followed me as I checked in, as they checked my passport. They followed me all the way until they couldn't anymore. My luggage was gone and moved to the plane so I just had my carry on and my purse.

"Have fun okay?" she asked.

"Don't miss me too much, okay?" I smiled.

"I'm not making any promises" she bit back a sob.

"I'm going to miss you" tears gathered into my eyes.

"I'm going to miss you even more" she cried with tears trickling down her cheeks.

"Promise we'll Skype every week?" she asked.

"Promise" I nodded and we hugged each other tightly.

"There it is!"Max cheered and we chuckled.

"Flight 348 will be departing in ten minutes" the metallic voice announced and we pulled away from each other.

"Goodbyes suck" she wiped away the mascara stains and I sniffed.
