Once hme 2 Druids, Wizards @ saints, 'tis built on a spot tht is so imbued w/ mysticism, it cud evn b the true resting plce of the Holy Grail itself...

St Mungo AKA Merlin:
Glasgow wz founded by the mysterious Saint Mungo - thought 2b the GR8 wizard Merlin himself!
He built the church 'round 540 AD on wh the Cathedral now stnds, & whr his tomb cn b found. He seems 2 hv bn as much a magician as he wz a priest. The city's Coat of Arms SYM'S some of his magical feats, INCL'ING the bird he brought back 2 life & the hill he raised. It is said tht he carried a magic wand w/ wh he cud control the weather. So if 'tis blowing a gale, say a prayer 2 Saint Mungo fr some sun!

Holy Grail Quest:
Cud the Holy Grail b in Glasgow? Some ppl fink so.
The city is rife w/ ley lines, most of wh fan out frm the LUSH Cathedral. Wot's mor, the layout of the East Quire of the Cathedral is identical 2 tht of Rosslyn Chapel nr Edinburgh, famously ASSOC'D w/ the Holy Grail. Rosslyn lies directly [E.] of Glasgow Cathedral as the crow flies. Both BUILD'S hv mystical sym's, INCL'ING the Rose & the green man, carved IN2 their stonework. Coincidence? PERHAPS....

Unfinished Business In Sighthill Park:
Began in the 1970's bt nvr finish'd, Glasgow's stones in Sighthill Park wz the first astronomical CIRC. 2 b erected in the UK fr 1000's of YR'S.
'Twas 2 mirror the rise & fall of sun & moonlight across the city, bt #4 of the stones r missing. Now PLN'S r underway, w/ the hlp of a LOC. astronomer, 2 finish the CIRC. w/in the nxt yr.

City Of The Dead:
The wrd Glasgow means "green hollow", & this is thought 2 refer 2 the Druids' grove tht once stood @ Fir Park.
Today, this is the site of the Necropolis, a fascinating cemetery rife w/ Greek & Egyptian sym's of paganism & mysticism. One of the most architecturally LUSH cemeteries in Brit., sleepy old mausoleums adorned w/ Moorish & Gothic stonework gaze out ov the bustling city below.

The THEAT'S spook is sd 2 laugh @ NE1 who dnt cut it on the stge. Allegedly, an aspiring actress who wrkd as a cleaner in the THEAT. in the L8 1800's, she wangled an audition, 1LY 2 b laughed off stge. Humiliated, she committed suicide by hurling herself off of the balcony of the upper circle - & hs bn avenging herself on bad actors eva since.

Tollbooth Steeple:
Dnt loiter nr the Tolbooth Steeple @ Glasgow Cross @ night.
This wz whr a BUILD. call'd the Tolbooth once stood - a combined town hall & prison, whr the heads of traitors were displayed on spikes & PUB. hangings took plce. Legend hs it tht a deranged doc played Frankinstein w/ some of the hanged corpses, cutting 'em ^ & re-sewing 2 4M new creatures. Apparitions of these monsters niw appear.

Bleeding Angel of Malta Terrace:
The spellbinding "Gatekeeper" on Malta Terrace in the Gorbals area is a suspended SCULPT. of an angel.
Since its unveiling in 2002, the bronze FIG. hs bn seen 2 bleed frm the palm, jst as J.C did. Her R.H (SIG. giving) is held outwards ov her <3. This is IMP. 2 Christian Mystics who wld read the bleeding as an echo of Saint Mungo's MSG, "Luv one another".

Caledonia Road:
Unlike the main Necropolis, the Southern Necropolis on Caledonia Road in the Gorbals district is distinctly menacing.
It's hme of #2 legendary characters - the White Lady is a statue u run 'round #3 times shouting "White Lady, White Lady". If the statue's head spins 'round & looks @ u, u will b turn'd 2 stone; if not, she will protect U.
The Gorbals Vampire hs iron teeth & bites kids. When #2 LOC. youngsters went missing in the 1950's, the vampire wz blamed. One night in 1954, 100's of kids poured IN2 the cemetery, brandishing knives, sticks & crucifixes. He hs not bn seen since!
