The Elizabethan House:
Dating frm Tudor times, the Elizabethan House is a magnificently r'stored merchant's hme, located in the back streets of the Barbican. Glance up & u might well c a yg grl lookin' back @ u frm a window.
SEV. tourists who hv gone 2 the hme, wh is now a museum, hv enquired abt the grl & bn told by staff tht no grl hs enter'd the BUILD.. On other occasions, visitors hv seem a cradle rocking by itself. Cud the #2 b CONN'D?

The Minerva Inn:
Built 'round the mast of an old ship, the Minerva Inn in the Barbican is #1 of the oldest pubs in the area. Sir Francis Drake & Sit Walter Raleigh both drank here.
PERH. they nvr left! Francis Drake occasionally pops back 2 frighten customers. Other ghostly activity INCL'S pics falling off walls & unidentified ghostly male FIG.. A lady in GRY hs also bn seen in the pub's office doorway.

The Royal Cinema:
The Independent Reel Cinema, ORIG'LY kn as the Royal Cinema when it opnd in 1938, hs SEV. resident ghosts.
Staff & audiences hv heard ghostly whispering & felt an unseen presence touching them. A ghost of a yg grl is REG'LY seen along w/ a similarly ANON. woman & a man kn 1LY as Jack. Wot these ghoulish critics md of 'Avatar' r'mains unkn.

Sir Francis Drake:
Sir Francis Drake wz rumoured 2 b a wizard who used magik 2 hlp defeat the Spanish Armada in 1588. As he lay dying frm dysentery on his ship off the coast of Panama, he order'd his snare drum 2 b sent hme 2 Buckland Abbey, Devon.
The drum hs bn heard beating by itself @ SEV. times of national crisis& triumph. Legend states: "If Drake's drum should be moved from its rightful home, the city will fall."
When it wz r'moved frm Bukland Abbey aftr a MAJ. fire in 1938, Plymouth suffered terrible air raids. ^ON its r'turn, the city wz safe agn.

Boringdon Hall:
A 4M'R priory on the outskirts of Plymouth, Boringdon Hall wz own'd by Sir Henry Grey in the 16th-CENT..
Henry wz the father of poor doom'd Lady Jane Grey, who wz left the throne by her cousin Edward VI ^ON his death, but wz queen fr a mere 9 dys B4 bng boot'd off the throne & executed by Edward's sister Bloody Mary in JUL 1554.
Lady Jane Grey's lovely ghost haunts this Grade I BUILD. 2 this dy. Loud footsteps, cold spots & strange LYT'S r some of the ghostly hppngs r'ported in the Hall, wh is now a hotel.
Sir Francis Drake hs also bn spotted here. Tht ghost certainly get abt!

Mary Anne Hunn:
LOC. story hs it tht, in the 1760's, an actress call'd Mary Anne Hunn found cheap lodgings ov a carpentry shop in Plymouth.
On the 1st NYT, as she wz reading in bed, she heard the snd of hammering & sawing as if a DOZ. men were wrkng in the shop below. Storming downstairs 2 tick off the noisy men, 2 her surprise she found the plce MT. Thru-out her stay tht SUM., the noises persist'd evry NYT. CLR'LY md of stern stuff, Mary Anne stuck her lease out - but when the own' of the PROP. visit'd #1 eve., he wz so terrified tht he ran off hme. Mary Anne became the mother of George Canning, briefly prime minister in 1827.
