Edwin hadn't spoken since the train had shown up. Too shocked to do anything over the fact that a subway had shown up out of nowhere. He had always believed in the rules and laws of science and physics. But this could not be explained.

Looking around the part they were in he realized Wendy had not been joking when she had described the place to him. Sure it looked like any regular New York subway that he had seen in pictures, but the seats were made of a warm white fur that when he sat on felt like heaven. The bars were spotless so he could see his reflection in them, and at the top left hand corner there was a small mini bar.

The only problem was that it had obviously been built for a great number or people judging by how long this compartment alone was. And it was just Edwin and Wendy.

Wendy had retired to one of the seats, staring off into space. Edwin had been looking out the window watching as in a whirl they went by houses, trees, lakes all in the blink of an eye.

Suddenly the train slowed to a stop, and the doors opened to a forest. Wendy immediately got out and started walking with Edwin behind her.

"Welcome to Bear Lake, Garden City," she said turning around to him while still walking,"Most famously known for its..." She mimicked a drum role as the suddenly came into a clearing to a restaurant.

"Raspberry Milkshakes!"

She started running to the restaurant. There were some tables outside so she sat him down and told him to wait.

Looking around Edwin noticed something strange. There was literally nobody. He expected at least maybe some kids walking to school. Then looking at his clock he figured out why. He had been in the train for at least an hour, meaning that in Kansas it was about 10. But here it was 8. Looking up he realized that the sun had just finished rising.

Just then he heard a cup plop right in front of him. He looked down to see a pink, wonderfully looking milkshake in front of him.

"It's raspberry."

"I don't like raspberry," he said.

Wendy stopped eating hers and looked him dead in the eyes. She gave him this eat-the-damn-milkshake look.

He immediately took the spoon and dipped it into the milkshake. He brought it to his lips and instantly taste it. It was a blend of milk and cream, with fruit and a bit of tang. It was the best drink he had ever had.

Instantly he grabbed for another looking at Wendy and seeing her smirk. As they ate their milkshakes he observed her. On closer inspection he noticed some of the light freckles sprinkled across her nose, and that she had rosy cheeks. He also noticed tucked in front of her strawberry blonde hair, the double studded earrings which suited her strangely well.

"Are you going to keep staring or what?"

He immediately cast his eyes down, cheeks blushing a bit from being called out on. After finishing all too quickly the milkshakes they put their drinks aside and neither said anything for a while.

"Alright let me explain, first off, again sorry for kidnaping you."

"Apology accepted."

"Thank you," she said. He could see she was struggling to get something out bug he couldn't tell what.

"Do you believe in magic?"

It was a strange question coming from her and he looked at her and was about to answer no, when he reconsidered the book, the field, and the train. It all made sense now. The strange visitors and someone introducing him to a secret world.

"Oh my god, I'm a wizard."

He was a bit of a nerd to be honest, and couldn't help but love books.

But when he looked at Wendy she stared at him," Calm your wand, Harry Potter, seriously."

Obviously catching onto her sarcastic tone he was left with confusion.

"You're an Imaginer."

He started at her blankly wondering what in the world was an Imaginer.

"You can do things with your imagination. You can build, design, fight with your mind. Once we get back to the cabin I'll explain it a bit more in detail. But that book," she said while pointing her finger," is something we need to win the war. Another thing I'll explain later. The trains already left so we'll have to take the shuttle."

With that she grabbed his hand, and ran to the nearest shuttle, just as he started to see some kids walking down the street for school.
