JONAH
Jonah didn't appear in Kalin's house. He appeared in the bathroom where Kalin had prepped them for their dinner with Aroculan and the Judgement Council.
That was the place he'd remembered best out of all of Arocule. The bathroom.
He flung open the door and rushed into the dormitory, which had been converted into some kind of infirmary. Wounded men and woman were laying across the beds. Medics clad in white rushed around the room with cards of supplies that Jonah couldn't name.
But that was the least of his worries at the moment. He rushed into the corridor and nearly slammed into Kalin's chest.
Kalin's eyes widened as he'd locked eyes with Jonah, as if he were looking at a ghost.
"Wha-," Kalin stammered.
"I can explain everything," Jonah said, "but I have to tell you this. Alaric and Cicada found where Arosi is. I need to get back to the Network. Right now."
"Do you know how to get there?" That was not at all what Jonah had expected his old friend to ask first, even after this very bizarre encounter, but Jonah wouldn't waste time saying that.
"I have an idea. But you won't like it."
