The boy and the girl sit atop their thrones, smiling down on their people from the balcony of their palace. They are now King and Queen, and rule with the power Alvus blessed them with. They rule their people fairly and they are loved throughout the entire nation.
Twenty-five years ago they were children, angry at the world for casting them out like trash. Now they are triumphant, with everything they could've ever within their reach.
Ever since the King brought the two nations together, expeditions to explore the unknown parts of the ground have begun. They even had the makings of the first map. The Grounders grew out of their strict roles as clans and mixed in with each other and the others from the former Arocule.
Dax didn't live long enough to see his old nation is such peace, and neither did Kalin. Kalin had been swept away painlessly in his sleep after his duty was fulfilled. Alaric still aches from his loss, even after almost two decades since he passed.
Soon after Alaric and Cicada returned to the Network, a prince was born. He is now twenty years old and soon to take the throne.
Alaric clasps hands with his queen, their golden eyes locking with each other. There son has the power of Constantine, and it will pass down through the royal line, getting weaker and weaker until it's gone. That day will be the day that the Grounders return to the earth to restore peace.
No one that is alive now will be when that day does come, but when it does, Alaric and Cicada's name will be spoken as much as Alvus Constantine's was. There will be texts written about them and tales told that will make them gods. Alaric will be the boy who started as an outcast, shunned by his people, but became a king. Cicada will be his loyal companion. Forever their love will exist, long after the existence of the Grounders turns to dust and the world that exists now fades into deep oblivion.
