Two Lies, One Truth

Chapter 7

Zoe's P.O.V
"I screwed everything up, he's gone. Why couldn't I have just told him from the beginning? Don't panic he said he needs to think, that doesn't mean he's breaking up with you. God, I'm so stupid," I thought, as tears are escaping out of my eyes. I wipe them away and put on a fake smile.
"Hey kiddos are you done?" I ask walking into the bathroom.
"Where's Alfie?" Mason asks.
"Yeah where did he go?" Melody joins. This is what I was afraid of, them getting attached and him leaving.
"He had to go home to get some sleep. He'll be back soon. Now let's get you to bed," I lie.
"Okay." They reply. I grab their hands and head to their room. I tuck them in and read a story. I finish it and Melody was knocked out. She's probably really tired after the panic attack. I walk over to give her a kiss and did the same to Mason.
"Mummy what's wrong?" Mason asks.
"What do you mean baby?" I reply.
"You're sad, I can tell," he answers. He always knew when I was upset, it's a good/bad thing.
"Nothing just tired," I smile.
"Are you sure?" he questions.
"Yeah I'm fine, goodnight Mason." I beam, pecking his lips.
"Goodnight mummy, love you." He smiles.

*Days Later *
I woke up around 6:00 and edited videos while vlogging. I constantly check my phone for any texts or missed calls from Alfie and so far I haven't gotten any. He's really gone.
"Hi Mummy," Melody and Mason cheer, getting onto my bed. I lose my train of thought and close my laptop.
"Morning munchkins. Do you want to watch some TV before breakfast?" I ask. They nod and I turn on Disney.
"LILO YAY!!" Melody screams.
"Stitch is better," Mason argues.
"No Lilo is," Melody snaps.
"Stop it you two, watch the movie." I intervene. Mason grabs the camera and turns it on.
"How come we not in videos? Like Darcy." He asks.
"You used to be really shy when I pulled out the camera, but if you're ready you can be in them." I reply.
"Me too?" Melody questions.
"Of course silly," I smile. I grab my camera again and start to record.
"Good morning guys, right now I'm just snuggled up with my babies, Mason and Melody, watching Lilo and Stitch. Can you guys say hi?" I start.
"Hi," they beam.
"As they are turning 4 tomorrow and having gotten less shy, I thought it would be a good time to start getting them more involved with my videos." I explain.
"Oh Mummy can we eggs and sausage?" Mason begs.
"Okay," I smile. We head downstairs and I continue to vlog. I scramble the eggs, grill the sausages, and hand them off to the kids. After breakfast, I decided to take them out somewhere for the day. A) to spend time with them and have some fun and B) to get my mind off of Alfie for awhile. There was this playground with a really big field by the house and it's always empty.
"How about we go to the park today?" I ask.
"Yay!" they cheer. It was a pretty nice day out and perfect for pictures. I put Melody in a floral dress and Mason in a regular t-shirt and a pair of cargo pants.
"Mummy can I bring my guitar?" Mason begs.
"That's fine. Let's go," I beam. I get my vlogging camera and my regular camera, and take the kids' hands. Just as I thought, no one was here. They run off and play on the playground while I set up the camera.
"Okay ready.... One, two, three," I start counting off. They run off over to some rock all the way over the field and I pretend like I don't see them.
"Where are you?!?" I playfully shout. I run over to the rock where they just seem to be chilling at.
"Found you!!" I scream, tickling them.
"Mummy... Stop," Melody giggles.
"The magic word," I bug.
"Pl-ease.." She responds. I stop tickling them both and snap a few pictures of the trees.
"Melody look at Mummy for a second." I instruct. I took the picture and it was adorable.
"I hungry," Mason admits.
"Where do you want to go for lunch then?" I ask.
"JAMIE'S!" Melody screams.
"Alright let's go." I grab their hands and make our way to the car. Before I start the engine, I get a text. It sadly wasn't from Alfie, but it was Joe.

Hey I'm in Brighton. I thought I would come early for the kids' birthday and spend more time with them.

Look who's being a good Uncle... 😊 Meet us at Jamie's. See you.

I drive to Jamie's and grab our table. A little bit after, Joe arrives.
"UNLCE JOE!!!" They scream, getting off of the chairs, running towards the door.
"Aww hello mini Suggs," He smiles. Melody takes a seat by me and Joe sits next to Mason.

Joe's P.O.V
"So what's the theme this year?" I ask.
"Hawaiian, thanks to you," Zoe smirks.
"I did them a favor," I reply. We order our food and I play tic-tac-toe with Mason as we wait for our food. Zoe pulls out her camera and starts to record.
"Wait I thought you weren't vlogging the kids?" I question.
"They wanted to and they're old enough now so I thought it was okay." She replied.
"And Alfie?" I raise an eyebrow. She seemed to tense up and get a little teary eyed.
"He knows," she whispers. I thought it would be best not to go into details so I just nod. Our food came and we eat it while talking about stupid stuff.
"How about we have chicken for dinner?" Zoe asks.
"What about sketti?" Mason smirks.
"Yeah sketti," Melody joins. I look at Zoe with a raised eyebrow.
"It's spaghetti," She chuckles.
"Oh in that case, hell yeah sketti it is," I laugh.
"Fine, I'll take the kids out to Marks & Spencer while you can go get the cakes around the corner," she suggests.
"I go with Uncle Joe," Mason screams.
"Melody do you want to go with Mummy or Uncle Joe?" Zoe questions. Melody had her cute little thinking face on and gave us the answer.
"I go with Mummy so she not alone," Melody responds. Zoe gives her a little kiss on the cheek and we head off in our directions.
"Okay be back at the house at 3:30," Zoe states.
"Okay I got it," I reply. I set Mason in the back of the car and I turn on some music as he's jamming out in the back.
