Two Lies, One Truth

Chapter 8

Zoe's P.O.V
"Mummy can you put hair up?" Melody asks.
"Okay come here," I instruct, pulling her closer. I tie it up in a high pony, grab her hand, and walk out of the car park. We head inside the store and I see a familiar face, as I walk down the aisle.
"Hi Zoe," Poppy cheers.
"Hi Poppy," I smile back.
"Who's this cutie?" she questions.
"This is Melody. Baby can you say hi to Poppy?" I ask.
"Hello," Melody smirks.
"What you buying?" She asks.
"Just some stuff for dinner," I reply.
"Sketti!" Melody screams.
"She's precious," she smiles, lifting her up.
"Thanks," I reply.
"I'm off now but great to see you. Bye Melody," She waves, setting her down.
"Bye bye Poppy," Melody chuckles.
"Bye, great to see you too," I beam. Melody waddles back to me and grabs my hand, as we walk through the aisles to find all the ingredients.
"Chocolate?" She questions. What is up with her and sweets?
"No baby, Uncle Joe and Mason already got cakes remember?" I remind.
"Okay," she frowns.
"Aww where's that pretty smile?" I tease, poking her stomach. She shows her gorgeous teeth and giggles.
"Uppy," she begs, holding out her arms. I pick her up and head to check out. I grab the bags and walk back to the car. Melody is set in the back and is now asleep. I pull into the drive way and park the car.
"Hey baby, we're home," I whisper, poking her foot. Her eyes flutter open and she holds out her arms. I bring her and the groceries inside. I drop off the stuff and Joe walks in.
"Alright you take the kids to the cinema like you wanted to and I'll stay here. What time does it start?" I ask.
"7:00," He answers.
"Alright I'll make dinner first," I smile. He runs off with the kids and I start cooking. Once I finish, I set the table and call them out.
"Have fun, don't eat too much junk food. Be good for Uncle Joe okay?" I smile, kissing each of their cheeks.
"Okay bye Mummy," they respond, heading out the door. I pull out my laptop and start to edit my vlog. Am I really going to do this? I haven't really mentioned a lot about the kids. What if I get a lot of hate or negative comments? But on the other hand there are people who will understand. I finish editing and quickly click upload.

Alfie's P.O.V
"Hey Sean," I greet.
"Hi, come in," Sean invites. I walk inside their new flat and it was really nice. Poppy was just on the sofa with her laptop as usual.
"Hey I got to go grab the food. Be back later," he shouts.
"Alright," I reply.
"Hey Alf," she cheers.
"Hey," I beam.
"So I saw Zoe today, why didn't you tell me she had a child?" Poppy asks.
"I didn't know until a couple of days ago. She lied to me all this time. Then she told me about how it's only been her raising them and honestly I don't know what to do. I told her I needed some time to think about it but I just..... I just don't know." I admit.
"Alfie listen, you know that she was only doing what's best for her child. That's all a mother wants to do. Has she lied to you about anything else?" she starts.
"No..." I reply.
"Then you shouldn't be upset at her for that. Can you imagine if it was your child?" she questions. I just stare at her blankly.
"Yeah exactly. When I saw her today, she wasn't as happy as when she's around you. But managed to put on a smile for Melody, who is absolutely adorable by the way. And you're not the same when you're not around her. You better get this sorted out, I can't manage to see you all grumpy anymore." She finishes. I just sit there and let the words sink in. I sit up and give her a hug.
"Thanks Pop," I thank.
"No problem," she smiles. She opens her laptop and goes on YouTube.
"Speak of the devil," she laughs. I check her screen and it was a vlog of Zoe's. She clicks the video and I watch it with her.
"Good morning guys, so right now I'm snuggled up with my babies, Melody and Mason, watching Lilo and Stitch. Can you guys say hi?" She starts.
"Wait there's another one? God, she makes cute kids," Poppy gasps. I sit there and just crack up.
"Twins, Poppy, twins," I laugh.
"So you guys excited for your birthday tomorrow?" Zoe asks the kids, who nod.
"We are having a Hawaiian themed party at the house with lots of friends and family. Then there's a really big surprise for kiddies early the next morning," Zoe states. I can make things right, I'm going to that party. I check the time to make sure the toy store wasn't closed yet. 9:30, I have 30 minutes.
"Hey Pop, I gotta go," I inform, getting off the couch.
"Okay, go then," she smirks. I head into the car and drive to the local Toys-R-Us . I walk around the aisles, searching for what to get the twins. I head into the Disney section because every kid loves Disney. I remember something about them watching Lilo and Stitch in her vlog so I grabbed Lilo and Stitch plushes which had Velcro arms. I head to the electronics section and grab two iPod Touches, a blue and pink. Along with matching blue and pink Stitch cases. I pay for everything and head back home. I take the iPods and the cases and put them in between the Velcro arms of each plush. Then, I put them both in party bags and labeled them. It was now 11:00 and I had to go to bed early if I want to make it before anyone else gets there. I shower and hop into bed, falling asleep to the rest of Zoe's vlog.
