Two Lies, One Truth

Chapter 18

Alfie's P.O.V
"I'll see you later alright," Zoe smiles, hugging both kids.
"Okay," they nod.
"Bye Alf, don't starve them," she jokes, pecking my lips.
"I won't," I chuckle.
"Bye Mummy. Love you," they shout, as she's walking out the door.
"Bye babies, love you more," she replies. Zoe was off to a meeting and while she was away I had something special planned. Today was step one of the Operation Copper. I came up with it while staring at a vase. This is going to be the best Christmas gift, I hope.
"Right lets get you two into some clothes and we'll go around the lanes," I smile.
"Okay. Last one is the loser," Melody screams, dashing off. We chase each other up the stairs and unfortunately I lost. Once we were all dressed, I got them in the car and drove to shop. I pulled out my vlogging camera so I can record the whole process.
"Hello there, can I help you?" The man asks.
"Um yeah I'm just looking for a ring for my girlfriend," I smile.
"Anything specific?" He asks.
"She absolutely loves rose gold," I inform.
"Right this way," he instructs. I grab the kids and move them to the other side. After about an hour of analyzing them all, I pick out about 3 of them and needed help narrowing them down.
"Which one do you think is better for Mummy?" I ask Mel, picking her up so she can see.
"Um... That one," she beams. I do the same to Mason and he points to the same one. I payed it off and walked out of the shop.
"This is Mummy's Christmas present, so no telling alright? It's a secret," I imply.
"Okay," Mason agrees. I was quite hungry and wanted a quick snack.
"You guys hungry?" I ask.
"Not really... I want a hot coco," Melody beams.
"Okay little Miss Sweet Tooth," I chuckle. We stopped by a cafe and grab a bite. The kids were both sipping enormous hot chocolates and got cream all over there faces.
"Smile!" I laugh. They both show a big grin and snap the picture. I get a call from Poppy and answered it.
"Hey," I start.
"Did you get it?" She squeals. Poppy is the only one who knows about the ring and is very eager to see it.
"Yeah. The kids helped pick it," I chuckle.
"Aww. I'm on my way to get some groceries and going to drop by later. How about homemade pizzas tonight?" She asks.
"Sounds amazing," I conclude.
"Alright, see you," she ends. I set my phone down and have a little chat with the kids.
"What do you guys ask Santa for?" I question.
"I can't tell you," Mason frowns.
"Why not?" I reply.
"If I tell you, Santa won't bring me presents," he concludes.
"Really?" I pretend gasp. He nods and takes another sip of his coco. We make our way out of the cafe and back into the car. I drive home and wait for Poppy and Sean to come over.

Poppy's P.O.V
"POPPY!" The kids shout. They're so cute.
"Hi," I smile.
"What did you do with Alfie?" I ask.
"We had really really good hot coco and got Mummy a Christmas present," Melody blurts.
"Alfie said to keep it secret. Remember?" Mason scolds at Melody.  They both run off with Sean as I set the groceries in the kitchen.
"Alf, come on I want to see it," I scream.
"Right give me a minute," he shouts back. I set some of the things away as he pulls out the ring.
"That's gorgeous," I gasp.
"You think she'll like it?" He questions.
"You kidding? She's going to die for it," I smile. He closes the box and hides it in his office.
"Poppy?" Mel asks.
"Yeah?" I reply.
"Can we go to the park with Sean?" She begs.
"What about me?" I joke.
"You can come too!" She squeals.
"Okay, come on!" I cheer, taking her hand.
"Hey Alf we're going to the park," I shout.
"Okay, I need to edit, but take Zoe's vlogging camera," he replies. I grab the camera, Mel's hand and we walk down the street to the park.

Zoe's P.O.V
I pull up the drive way and see Poppy's car. I haven't seen her in ages. I walk into the house and it was strangely silent.
"Alf, Mel, Mase!" I shout.
"In here," Alfie replies. I take off my boots and walk into the office.
"Poppy and Sean took the kids out to the park, they should be home soon," he smiles.
"Alright," I sigh. I walk over and took a seat on his lap.
"Did you finish editing yet?" I ask.
"Yeah watch," he smiles, clicking the video. We watch the video and I loved the outcome. Soon I heard footsteps and walk outside.
"Hey," I greet.
"Mummy!" The kids shout, running into a hug.
"Aww did you have fun at the park?" I ask.
"Yeah, we took Nala on a walk," Mason beams.
"She loved it didn't she," I coo, messing with Nala's ears. They venture off into the living room with their new toys from Niomi.
"Hey Pop," I smile.
"Hi Zoe, you have a good meeting?" She wonders.
"Yeah, exciting things," I answer.
"I bet," she smirks.
"Thanks for taking them out," I smile.
"No problem... Oh I also vlogged it for you," she answers, handing me my camera.
"You're the best," I beam.
"I know. So pizza and Home Alone?" She chuckles.
"Yes please," I laugh. We both started getting the dough ready and added all the toppings. Christmas movies and pizza. My favorite kind of nights.
