I was sitting in my apartment Sunday night watching The Avengers when Jimmy burst into the room. I'd given him his own key a few days before, since he was constantly coming over anyway, and he used it quite often. The look on his face made me cautious.

"What is it?" I asked, pausing the movie. He shut the door behind him and ran over to me, panting wildly.

"I just got the greatest idea," he said.

"What?" I asked, smiling slightly at how overly-enthusiastic he was acting (not that it was an unusual sight...it would be far more strange to see him bored).

He caught up on his breath, then said, "What if we got the public to love us together before we even said we were together?"

I tilted my head. "What?"

"Hear me out," he said, coming around the couch to sit beside me. "If we could somehow get people to start liking the idea of us being together, when we announce it they'll all love us. Adam would actually be ecstatic about it because of all the good publicity."

I nodded. It was starting to make sense. "So you want people to start shipping us?"

He looked confused. "Uh...."

"Do you know what shipping is?"

He sighed. "Honestly, no."

I laughed. "It's okay! I can explain it," I said. "'Shipping' is a fangirl term that derives from the word 'relationship'. So, when you ship two people, you want them to go out," I gestured towards the screen. "For example, some marvel fangirls and fanboys like to ship Tony and Pepper - myself included. Their ship name is Pepperoni," I explained, dissolving into laughter.

"Really?" he laughed. "That's amazing! How are we supposed to come up with a ship name for us that's cooler than that??"

"Hmm....I dunno," I said, racking my brain. "....Jat?"

"....Nimmy?"

"....Natimmy?"

Jimmy snapped his fingers. "Jimtasha!"

"YES!" I shouted. We high-fived. "Not as cool as 'Pepperoni', but it'll work!"

"Now the question is," said Jimmy, "how can we get people to ship Jimtasha?"

The idea came to my mind immediately. Being an experienced fangirl for quite some time, I knew exactly what needed to be done. I turned to my boyfriend and said the one word that would save our skins - that would bring Jimtasha to the glorious realm of tumblr - and then the rest of the world. "Fanfiction."

His eyes widened. "Fanfiction?"

I nodded. "Fanfiction."

He shuffled uncomfortably in his seat. "How are we going to do that?"

I grinned. "There's something you need to know about me, James." I picked up another slice of pizza. "I'm not just an experienced fangirl - I'm also an experienced fanfiction author."

"....you are?"

"Yes."

He smiled. "Why didn't you tell me?? Did you ever read fanfiction about me?" he gasped. "Did you ever write fanfiction about me?!"

"That, uh..." I laughed, "that's for me to know and for you to never ever find out ever."

"So you have?!"

"I will not answer, sir!"

"Pleeeeeeeease?"

"Just forget about it," I said, shoving pizza in my mouth so I didn't have to talk. He crossed his arms in mock anger. I chuckled and swallowed down the food. "Anyways, the point is, I can totally write a fanfic about us."

"Really?"

"Oh yeah," I said. "Easily."

"Then I guess let's get started."

I retrieved my laptop from my bedroom and we got to work, creating a wattpad account and a new tumblr to go along with it. We decided to make the plot of the story different from what had actually happened between us; if it was too similar, people might figure out it was real before we wanted them to. We wrote a couple parts and published them, along with some tumblr posts. By the end of the night, several Jimmy-centered blogs had followed 'Jimtasha-forever' and the story (titled 'Match Made') had a few readers.

"These things take time," I reminded Jimmy, "so don't expect loads of readers anytime soon."

He grinned. "What if we got more people to look it up?"

I furrowed my eyebrows. "How?"

"By getting people to ship us, of course."

"....what do you mean?"

He leaned in. "I'm gonna need you to come back on the show," he said mischievously.

"For what...?"

"For some live fanfiction," he said, "a little sketch I like to call 'Fake Soap Opera'"
