Jimmy's idea worked out perfectly. The heat strip made me feel almost normal. The concert went on as planned, with a crowd just as fantastic as the last. There were many moments where I almost brought him up - where I almost told the entire crowd - but I never gave in. Something was holding me back. I couldn't tell what....

He was backstage, dressed as a security guard. The minute the show was over, I had to see him. Before I knew it, we were tangled up in my dressing room, just like the night before.

Somebody knocked on the door. Jimmy sighed, resting his forehead against mine. "Do you mind?" he yelled. "We're violently snogging in here!"

"Jimmy!!" I whisper-screeched. He laughed.

Adam slowly opened the door. "Natasha?" he said cautiously. I pulled away from my boyfriend.

"What is it?" I asked. I didn't like the tone of his voice, or the look in his eyes; neither was confident or sassy, as they usually are. Instead, they were a shade I'd hardly ever seen on Adam - fear.

He wrung his hands and shut the door behind him, looking as though the Queen of England herself had ordered his banishment. "The press have...the press have come out with something."

"Come out with what, exactly?"

"They..." he looked down at the floor, then back into my eyes, "they're trying to say you're expecting."

"Expecting what? 'Expecto patronum'?"

Jimmy chuckled. Adam shot us a glare. It was a relief to see him look fierce again, rather than so afraid, however fleeting that moment was. "This is not a time for jokes," he scolded. "The media is trying to convince everyone that you are pregnant."

"What?"

"Yes," said Adam, handing over his phone for me to see a screenshot, "and they're all saying Jimmy is the father...and that....and that you two have been lovers for a while, even when he was married."

I couldn't believe my eyes. Someone had recognized Jimmy at the pharmacy and taken a picture of him, and they had also figured out that I'd been there just before him. I was a bit bloated from my period, which gave me a little more of a stomach. Pregnant, though? Goody-two-shoes me, pregnant?? I couldn't believe they'd assume such a thing.

Except I could.

This was so very typical of them, taking one look at a set of photos and creating an entire conspiracy from them, not one thought as to who they might hurt in the process. I felt disgusted. I felt betrayed. I felt confused.

Jimmy, however, was irate.

"I can't believe this," he muttered, pacing the room. "I mean, sure, all they ever do is tear people down, but how dare they come near you like this."

"It's okay," I said.

"No, it's not," he replied, still pacing. Adam sat down on the couch, looking defeated. Jimmy lightly kicked the wall. "I can't believe this," he repeated.

I pulled out my own phone to do some investigating. I was about to click on Safari when Wattpad caught my eye. I hovered over my phone, trying to decide which would hurt more. Finally, I settled on our fanfiction; maybe the people reading would be rejoicing rather than reviling.

My breath caught in my throat. I couldn't speak. All I could do was grab Jimmy by the tie and pull him towards me. "What?" he asked, already in a state of concern. I forced the phone in his hands. He gasped.

Our story had over 5,000 reads.

"It's gone viral," he whispered, gaping at the screen. It made me happy to see a hint of hope in his eyes.
