"Dad text me saying he's going to be working late so I'm going out to dinner, you coming?" Jason asks.

"Uh, sure." I grab my jacket and slip on my shoes.

We arrive at Papa Paolo's and order then sit down to wait for the pizza. "How's it going?" Jason asks.

"It's going good." I answer wondering why my older brother has taken interest in me. "Why?"

"Just wondering about my sister, is that aginast the law?" I raise an eyebrow, shooting him a look. "Alright, here's what it really is. I don't know why, but some people in my year have taken an," he pauses, "interest in you."

"What are you talking about?"

"After you supposedly 'hooked up' with Noah you're now in the public's eye." He says with air bunnies. "This weekend really put you on the map."

"Fantastic." I say rolling my eyes. "To be honest I want nothing more than to fade back into the shadows with the rest of the 10th grade losers."

"You may as well ride this popularity out, however temporary it may be." Jason suggests.

"Submit and act as if I did do what everyone's saying?"

"No, no of course not. You definitely need to hold your own." He leans back in his chair casually. "I'm saying you should just ride the wave - go to some parties, make some friends, have fun with it."

"I guess I could do that." It does sound like it could be fun to fit in with the 'popular' crowd. I just can't see myself as up to standard.

Just as I'm mulling it over, a bunch of people from school enter through the glass double doors. Stephanie, Morgan, Jess, Ellis, and Noah make their way over to our table and pull up a chair. One or two of them may have muttered "mind if we join you?" But the general consensus was that Jason and I don't have a choice in the matter.

"Hi, Jason." Stephanie says taking a seat next to him.

"Hey, Steph." He blushes slightly.

"Oh, you know what?" She begins. "This table is looking a little crowded."

"It is?" Ellis asks.

"Yes," she shoots Ellis a sharp warning look then turns back to my brother, "Jason and I can move into that booth, way over there." She says flipping her glorious cascade of blonde hair over her shoulder and they get up and leave.

I throw Jason a how can you abandon me here? look to which he sends a duty calls kind of smirk back to me. Ughhhh, I think to myself.

"So what are you doing here?" Noah asks, sitting beside me.

"Just grabbing some dinner with Jason, well, I was up until Stephanie wisked him away."

"Yeah, no kidding." He says rolling his hazel eyes.

"We should order, waiter!" Morgan says drawing attention by waving her hand in the air.

"Hey, what can I get you guys?" The waiter says.

"We'll have two garden salads." Jess answers smiling proudly about her order. Seriously, who comes to a pizza restaurant and orders a salad?

I guess Noah notices my face contorted with confusion and wonderment at how basic these girls are because his knee nudges mine. I look up at him as he smirks, containing a laugh.

"Two medium pepporonis, bro?" Ellis asks Noah.

"Yeah, please." Noah confirms.

"I'll be back soon." The waiter finishes writing things down and disappears behind metal double doors to the kitchen.

"Omg, today I saw Wendy Carlson wearing the most hideous jeans they were-" Morgan begins saying to Jess. That's all I managed to take in before I zoned out from her moronic thoughts.

"Was your day as interrogated as mine?" Noah asks Ellis.

"Not at all." He says leaning back in his chair grinning.

"Was yours bad?" Noah asks me.

"I'm not letting what people say bother me."

"I wish more people thought like that." He says. I admire his strong jawline as he removes his letter jacket. "High school would be so much simpler."

"You can say that again." Ellis says.

The night goes on, the food arrives. We chat and eat. Morgan makes herself the centre of attention for most of the night but I don't really care. Noah seems like a great guy and we manage to talk to each other when Morgan isn't reigning down on us. I think I could possibly like him. It's far too soon to tell.

The entire time thoughts about what Jason is up to in the booth with Stephanie niggle in my mind. I want to know if he's asked her out or admitted he likes her. I'll have to try and get some details from him later!
