"Um, er." Is all I can seem to say at this point. I'm completely taken aghast by the fact that I just had my first kiss, my first proper kiss. With Noah, nonetheless. Although suddenly his facial expression changes from a sort of humble, warming smile to a look of disappointment. His eyebrows furrow as he looks down at his feet. Or perhaps confusion? "You can tell me if I'm a terrible kisser." I rub my hands together nervously.

"No, no, it's not that." He rubs his temples in circular motions without looking back at me.

"Then what is it?" I ask.

"Don't worry."

"You can tell me, I-"

"It's complicated." He clenches his jaw as though he's thinking hard about something. "C'mon we should get back inside." I follow him back into the house without any words being exchanged.

"Drink this." I hear Ellis trying to look out for Poppy, getting her to drink some water.

"The prude is back." Giggles Morgan to Sydney, who gives her a disapproving jab in the side. "Hey! I'm only joking. I swear people get so touchy over the littlest of things." She mutters.

"I think you should say sorry." Steph tells Morgan.

"Fine!" She looks over to me, rolling her eyes slightly. "I'm so sorry Kimmi. You can forgive me, right?"

"Sure." I say in the driest tone I can to try and make it seem like I don't care. I look over to Poppy who's being fed bread in the kitchen and decide to sit down on the couch next to Sydney. All I want to do is grab Poppy and tell her what just happened but I can't, not right now. I catch a glimpse of Noah but he's not looking at me, he's looking over at Jason and Stephanie.

"Syd, can we talk?" Noah says looking over in my direction but without making any eye contact with me. It feels like a little jab in the heart but I don't let it show.

"Um, sure." She gets up from the couch and leaves the room with Noah. What are they talking about? Is he telling her about me? This is madness, the only two people I've ever kissed probably discussing how terrible I am at it. Or worse?

"Do you know what's going on?" Steph asks Jason.

"No clue." He shakes his head, downing what's left in his cup.

"Shall we do some spy work?" Steph laughs.

"Definitely!" Jason grabs her hand and pulls her up from the bean bag cushion they were sitting on. They start heading towards the door of the room that Noah and Sydney disappeared into. Oh no. They'll find out.

"Maybe you shouldn't, it- it could be private!" I say attempting to stop them but they have their ears pressed up against the door, listening, within seconds of my plea. A moment or two passes when suddenly both Jason and Steph's mischievous grins drop. I don't often swear but, fuck.

Jason pushes the door open, looking angrier than I think I've ever seen him before, even angrier than the time I kicked his Xbox and it broke - in fairness he pulled the head off my favourite doll. "What the fuck, Noah?" He yells. I don't understand. How can he be this angry over a kiss?

"Jason!" I can hear the suprise in Noah's voice. "Look, I can explain!"

"Is this a joke? After everything and now you do this?" He shouts and starts walking towards me, Noah appears from the room behind him.

"Jason, I'm really sorry-" My brother turns and shoves Noah, who stumbles backwards but manages to stay on his feet.

"You know there's a limit on the number of times you can fuck me over, Noah!" Jason starts towards Noah again debating whether to throw a punch or not in his head, his fists are clenched like he's made up his mind. Everyone in the room is just as taken aback as I am. I rush over to the two of them and try to push them apart. All of a sudden the tables are turned on me and Jas grabs my arm tightly. "So who the fuck do you think you are?" Jason slurs at me, I can smell the alcohol on his breath.

"Leave her alone." Noah says, infuriating Jason further. Suddenly thwack! Jason right hooks Noah across the face. My hands clamp over my mouth in shock and I can't say anything. All of a sudden Ellis steps in, at last, pulling Jason away from the situation. What just happened? It feels like time is standing still in this moment. Morgan sits in the armchair looking somewhat amused by it all, Poppy is near enough passed out on the couch, Ellis is restraining Jason, Sydney is in the midst of grabbing Noah to see if he's alright and Steph bursts into tears, right there and then. What am I doing? I really don't know. Just as quickly as everything froze, it feels like everything is in fast forward and the room erupts into noise.

"Are you alight?" Sydney is asking Noah who groans in pain clutching his face.

"You're all so pathetic!" Cackles Morgan.

"What's going on?" Poppy murmurs.

"What are you thinking?" Sobs Steph.

"Get off me." Jason shakes out of Ellis' grip enough to firmly take hold of my arm again. "I want you out of my life." He says sternly. I feel my eyes welling with tears as the room falls silent again. He makes his way to the front door, grabbing his jacket on his way, and slams it behind him. Stephanie follows after him.

Tears start rolling down my cheeks. "I'm going home."
