The Hidden

Chapter 7

Jane hands me a shiny silver key. I look up to her and give her a smile.
"Your room is upstairs next to Isabelle's room. I thought you would like a friend next door." Jane smiles. "And you young man, kidnapping girls is not something you should be doing." She joked.
"Just trying to make friends you know" Jake answered her.
"You should probably find a better way" and with that comment we all laugh. I could get used to this, it's like my own new family. "If you could take this young lady to her new room I might reward you with a crakle."
"Yes!" He shouts. "Follow me young princess." He put his arm out. I looped my arm through locking our arms following along with the joke. He skips out the door making me stumble before regaining my balance. "Sorry" he laughs. We untangle our arms and begin to just walk.
"Do you know Isabelle?" I ask. I don't know how many people are in this organization.
"Do I? He laughs, "too well she's crazy."
"Crazy?" I ask.
"She went after you didn't she? And she made you climb a building."
"I thought it was fun" I laugh.
"Oh no we have another one of the crazy kinds!" He jokes. "You will just fit in with us."
"Us?"
"Isabelle, Ashton, and me" he answered.
"Isn't Ashton her brother?"
"Yeah, don't worry he's not usually that serious like you saw." He looked annoyed. "Only serious when we need to be." We ended up at my room. Room 106. Isabelle's is 107 I'm guessing. I slide the key in the knob and turn it. I push the door open to a small little room with a bed, nightstand, dresser, and closet. It was plain with white walls and a wooden floor. "I will get The others to come welcome you." I nod before sitting on the empty bed. This is my new room. I don't remember my life but I think it was plain and boring. This is where I wanted to be. Here.
There was a knock on the door. I got up and walked over to the door and opened it. Jake is leaning on the door frame eating a candy bar called crakle. He straightened up and walked in along with Isabelle, Jane, Ashton, and Chris. What was this? A party? I'm so confused... "What's going on?" I asked.
"We are giving you our welcoming gifts." Jane smiled.
"It's been awhile" Isabelle looked away but quickly smiled and handed me a box, "open mine first." I take the box and open it. Inside is a small little necklace with a red gem.
"Thank you so much!" I throw my arms around her and hug her tightly. She hugs me back.
"Thanks for being another girl around" she laughs and glares at Ashton and Jake.
"Well my gift is more useful than some jewelry" Ashton glares back at Isabelle. He hands me a neatly wrapped blanket. The blanket was a light grey with teal stripes.
"Awe thanks, I like the colors" I tell him. The teal reminded me of peacefulness. I liked it.
"See" he laughs at Isabelle.
"You didn't get a hug from it!" Isabelle pointed out.
"Guys don't need hugs" he finished the conversation.
"My turn!" Jake hands me a bag of candy bars. I laugh. "Come on you have to try one"
"He must be serious if he is willing to share his candy" Ashton laughs. I unwrap the candy and take a bite. The chocolate melts in my mouth and I chew the crunchy part. It was very good.
"Mmm." Chris handed me a black jacket that had red stitching that spelled The Hidden and a small black backpack."Thanks" I smile.
"You will be needing this" Jane smiled and handed me a dagger with a pink gem and swirly designs. I can't believe it's mine. It was so pretty I loved it.
"I love it" I tell her, "thank you." I make a pile of my gifts on my dresser.
"We are going to eat dinner. Do you want to join us?" Ashton asked me.
"Yeah" I answer.
"Let's go princess!" Jake cheers picking me up and putting me on his back. He was tall he must be older than me. He treated me like I was his little sister. He ran out the door with me on his back.
"No more candy bars for you" Ashton complains.
"Come on its kinda funny" Isabelle said.

We sat at a table at a little diner in The Hidden. Isabelle sat next to me with Ashton across from her and Jake across from me. The waitress walked over to us. "What do you want to order?"
"We will have the normal pizza." Isabelle ordered. The waitress nodded and walked away. "We have pizza Friday's" she told me.
"Sounds fun!" I answered. We ate our pizza and had fun conversations. Isabelle stood up and pushed the chair in.
"We are going to go get some clothes and bedroom stuff" she tells the boys and grabs my arm forcing me to stand up.
"We are?" I ask and the boys laugh.
"Well I don't like shopping but you need clothes." She answered.

My bed had a teal pillow, white pillow, and teal covers. My walls decorated with pictures and a letter T. A teal rug was placed next to my bed and my closet full of dark colored clothes. "I like it"
"Good I'm tired now" she plops onto my bed. She glances at the new clock on my nightstand. "It's ten already" she stands up and walks toward the door. "I'm gonna go sleep."
"Okay" I laugh at how her energy dropped so fast. With that I got ready for bed and fell asleep in my new home.
