I giggled as my daddy tickled me in my bed.

"Daddy! Stop!" I couldn't stop laughing no matter how hard I tried.

I heard my daddy laugh and release me. "Alright little pup. Time for bed."

"Aww." I pouted. "But I don't wanna." Smiling I said. "I can't wait until I'm Alpha, daddy. Then I'll be able to stay up late like you."

My daddy smiled softly at me. "Trust me, pup, when you're Alpha, sleep will be your heaven." He the. Kissed my forehead and tucked me in. "Goodnight Shiva."

"Wait!" He stopped. "Can you tell me a story? Pleeeeaaaase?" I put on my best puppy eye look I knew that he couldn't resist.

My daddy sighed and sat on my bed again. "Alright, but you have to sleep after okay?"

I nodded. "Yes, daddy."

"Good. Now what story do you want to hear?"

I thought for a moment. "Oh! The one about the Blood Alpha!"

He chuckled and nodded. "Okay. But don't get too scared."

I put on a confident look. "I'm never scared."

With another chuckled, he started telling the story. "Many moons ago, there was a pack of vicious werewolves called the Blood Diamond Pack. Their alpha, the Blood Alpha, was cruel and killed many innocent wolves. He was a bloodthirsty monster. Our pack, the Bright Crescent Pack, went to war to stop this monster from killing anymore innocent lives. All who fought the Blood Alpha were killed, slaughtered. Many believed that no one could stop the tyrant. But then, he vanished, disappeared. No one ever heard from him again. But many say that he will come back, and take over the Northern territories." My daddy ended the story.

"Daddy? Do you believe in him?"

My daddy answered after a moment with a smile. "No pup. I don't." He stood. "Now get some sleep. You have your 12th birthday tomorrow." I smiled brightly. "Good night, Shiva. I love you."

"I love you too, daddy." He turned off my lights and closed my door. The only light in my room was a little nightlight of a crescent moon.

I started thinking about the Blood Alpha and wondered if he really was real. Everyone tells me that he's not, that he's just a ghost story werewolves tell to each other at campfires or bedtime stories.

I shrugged and closed my eyes.

Guess he's not real.
