Thresh's POV
I knew, I knew that this wouldn't work. I knew that her parents wouldn't accept me. They were right, I'm a tyrant.
I know that I can keep her safe from others, but it's me who I'm worried about. I have my father's temper and rage, as much as I hate to admit that.
I knew what I had to do.
Right now I was waiting near the pond. I ran a hand through my hair nervously. This would be the hardest thing I would ever have to do.
Suddenly I heard a twig crack and turned to see Shiva stepping through the bushes. That beautiful smile on her face as she walked towards me. Maybe I shouldn't-
No. I have to.
"Hey." She said when she was in front of me. "Why did you call me out here?"
I sighed. "I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Is it my parents?" She groaned. "If it is, I am so sorry about them they're just-"
I waved my hand in dismissal. "No. No. They're... fine, I guess, but it's something else."
She nodded. "Okay."
Here it goes. "We can't be together."
Shiva's eyes widened and tears began to pool her eyes. I held back the urge to just hold her and take it back. "What? But, I thought that we were getting somewhere."
I had to act cruel. Make her think that I didn't want her, so I growled. "You thought wrong then."
Shiva shook her head. "What about what you said earlier?"
This was just crushing me, but I huffed a laugh. "You thought that I was serious?" I was. "Ha! You really are an idiot. I said those things so your parents would shut the fuck up. Of course I wasn't going to kill them there. I've been planning for the perfect moment for that, but you got in the way. What? Are you hurt? Ha! Do you think that I really care about you? Well guess what," I leaned closer. "I never did."
Tears were now just cascading down her cheeks as she stepped back from me, which almost made me whine. "Everyone was right. You really are a monster."
"I am the Blood Alpha sweetheart. What did you expect?"
I couldn't take it anymore, so I turned my back to her.
"You know," Shiva started. "I thought that you were so much more than what everyone said you were. But I was so wrong. You're a tyrant, a monster. I hate you!"
That killed me. I felt like I had just died right then and there. I heard her running away and when she was far enough...
I collapsed.

Erick's POV
I paced back and forth in my living room. My mate smiled at me the whole time.
"I just can't believe that it had to be him! Out of all the wolves in the world, it was him!"
My mate, Lauren, chuckled at me. "You worry too much. This is out daughter that we are talking about. She can handle herself."
"It's him I don't trust not her. He's dangerous."
Lauren stood and hugged me. I couldn't help but squeeze her back. "You remember when we first met? How we felt?"
I smiled. "I'll never forget that feeling."
"That's how Shiva feels about Thresh. And Thresh may not want to admit it, but he needs her as well."
I sighed. "You're right."
"I always am."
I huffed a laugh and held her closer.
Suddenly a knock was heard at the front door. Lauren went over to open it. When she did, our daughter was standing there, tears streaming down from her red and puffy eyes.
"Sweetheart." Lauren ushered her in. "What's wrong?"
"I hate him! I hate him!" She practically screamed.
I placed my hands on her shoulders. "Who pup?"
"Thresh. He said that he didn't care, he never did." She sat on the couch in between us.
Lauren tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "But I don't understand. What about all of those things he said before?"
"Those were just lies! I can't believe that I actually fell for him."
I narrowed my eyes and stood, heading for the door. I could hear both of them calling for me, but I was on a mission.
I shifted and ran for the Southern Territories.

After running for about three hours, I finally caught the scent of Thresh. I followed it to a small pond.
There he was.
Thresh was in his wolf form as he paced around the pond. Suddenly he swung his paw out and broke a boulder in half with a roar.
Calmly, I stepped forward. "Done?"
Thresh whipped around to face me with a snarl. "I'm not in the mood for your lecture, Lunarson! Just leave me be!"
"You need her." Thresh didn't say anything, only growled and started to walk away. "Why?"
"What is with, Lunarson?! Just hours ago you wanted me dead!" He said as he snarled at me.
"That was before I saw how much my daughter loves you." I paused. "And how much you love her. Why do this to her?"
"She can't be with me." He was no longer growling. Instead, his head was low and his voice was barely a whisper. "I can't risk it. Not her."
Now I'm confused. "I don't understand."
"I'm the Blood Alpha. I've killed people, families. That has a tendency of giving you enemies that want you dead. But, the biggest reason is me. I'm too dangerous, too much like my father. If she stays," Thresh stared into my eyes. "She dies."
I remained silent. I had no idea that Thresh would have all of this internal conflict. He pushed Shiva away to protect her, from him.
"Thresh. If there's one thing I learned from being a mate and a father, it's that no matter what the ones who love you the most will hold your hand through anything. Trust me. I raised Shiva, and never in my life have I seen her this broken hearted over anything. She needs you Thresh, and you need her."
Thresh was quiet before nodded his head. I nodded back. "Good. Now come on. I believe that you two have much to discuss."
