Shiva's POV
The next morning, I woke up and Dad was still not home. I sighed and walked downstairs to see my mom already on the kitchen making some pancakes. I missed her cooking.
"Morning sweetie." She said in that motherly voice. "How are you feeling?"
I sighed as I sat on a stool at the island. "I don't know." I shrugged.
Mom placed a plate full of food in front of me. "You'll figure something out. Don't worry."
"That's the problem, I'll always worry about him. No one knows him like I do. I feel like he doesn't like that though, but he never talks about that!" I groaned. "I don't know what to do."
Suddenly the front door burst open and I heard two familiar voices.
"SHIVA!!"
I turned around and had the biggest grin on my face as my two best friends ran to me with open arms. "Cassie! Eva!" We got into a group hug. "I missed you guys so much!"
We pulled away and Eva lightly punched my shoulder. "Don't scare us like that again! You nearly gave us a heart attack!"
I smiled and rubbed my neck. "Sorry guys."
Cassie only hugged me again. "We're just happy that you're safe." She pulled away. "Now rumor has it that you found your mate." She said with excitement.
My smile dropped and I sighed. "Yeah I did."
Eva frowned. "What's wrong? Aren't you happy?"
I shrugged. "It's hard because my mate happens to be the Blood Alpha."
They both gasped. "What?!"
"Yep. His real name is Thresh Vossen. And he's... complicated."
Eva and Cassie looked to each other then back at me. "Do we hate him?"
I huffed a laugh. We asked each other that when one of us doesn't like someone. We've been doing it ever scone we were little.
I shrugged. "I don't know."
Cassie placed a hand on my shoulder. "Well we're with you every step of the way."
I smiled. "Thanks guys. You two are the best."
"We know." They both said.
We laughed until suddenly we heard a commotion going on outside. Mom walked out and we followed to see the pack staring at the edge of the tree line.
I couldn't see over them so I pushed my way through the crowd.
Boy I wish I hadn't.
Standing there next to my father, was Thresh.
His red eyes connected with my blue ones. I could see many emotions in them, but most of all regret.
"Alpha!" A pack member said. "Who is he?"
My dad stepped in front of Thresh. "Everyone, this is an extremely important announcement. This man is to not be bothered in anyway while he is here. If I hear of see anyone trying to talk to him, you will be meeting me in my office. Is that clear?"
The pack nodded. "Good. Now clear out."
The crowd dispersed. I could hear them whispering among themselves about Thresh.
Dad walked passed me. "You two have mush to talk about." He turned to my friends. "Give them some room girls."
My friends shrugged and gave me a thumbs up before they walked off with dad. I so did not want to be here right now.
"Shiva." I nearly moaned at the deep voice, but restrained myself and turned to Thresh. "Can we uh, talk somewhere more private?"
I sighed, but beckoned him to my house. We got to my room and I closed the door. Thresh busied himself by looking around. "Nice place."
"Thresh, why are you here?" I crossed my arms.
Thresh sighed through his nose. "To apologize to you."
I huffed. "Really? You think a simple sorry is going to make me forget everything you've done? I don't think you really know who you're talking to."
"Shiva-"
"No, don't 'Shiva' me! What did I do to deserve your attitude towards me?! I understand that you had a traumatized childhood, I give you sympathy got that, but when I offered to help you get past it you push me away! Well, guess what, I'm done being pushed around by you! I'm the daughter of the Bright Crescent Alpha and Luna! You are a monster! You are the reason why you became this way! Not anyone else, you! So don't take your anger out on me when I'm the one who is trying so hard to help you and all I get in return is you basically saying that you didn't want me anymore! How do you think that made me feel? Do you even consider how I feel?"
Thresh let me get whatever I needed to say out. Not interrupting once. I needed to get everything off of my chest.
There was a few moments of silence before Thresh spoke. "I did what I thought was right. Because you're right, I am a monster. I've lived so long in darkness that I forgot what light looked like." He stared into my eyes. "Until I met you." My eyes widened. "Shiva, I've treated you like you were lower than dirt, and let me tell you that I regret it more than anything. But you, you still gave me a chance. You showed me what light looked like. And I still pushed you away, because Shiva, on the outside I may act tough and scary, but inside... I'm terrified."
Tears were pooling my eyes by now. I never thought that he felt this way.
Thresh stepped closer. "I understand that you hate me right now, hell I hate me too, but believe me when I say this. I love you Shiva."
I couldn't hold back anymore. I jumped forward and kissed him with passion. I had my legs wrapped around his waist as he kissed back just as passionately. Unfortunately I had to breathe and pulled away to rest my forehead against his. Both of us panting heavily.
"I love you too Thresh."
