It's been four days since Thresh and I kissed. Thresh was still having trouble getting use to our relationship, but I was helping home through it.
We haven't... you know... mated yet. But I understood why. Thresh wasn't ready, and honestly, neither was I.
Right now, I was by myself in the forest. I sat near a small pond in my white wolf form, sighing in content at the peacefulness.
Suddenly I smelled a familiar scent and smiled as my mate emerged from the bushes in his black wolf form.
"You really shouldn't be out here alone."
I rolled my eyes playfully. "Thresh, I can take care of myself. You worry too much. I'm fine."
He sat down next to me. "I know you can, but I'd feel better if you weren't out here alone."
I only chuckled and tucked my head under his chin in a wolf 'hug'. He nuzzled back. "To think," he started. "Just a few days ago I didn't want to get close to you because I was scared. Now, here we are."
"I know. I'm proud of you Thresh. Really."
And I was. He's improved so much since we started trying things out. Yes, he still held back at times. Like yesterday, he was frustrated with a pack member and wouldn't allow me near him until he calmed down. I understood, he didn't want to hurt me, but I also wanted to show him that he won't. I trust him, but he still needs to learn how to trust himself.
Suddenly I yawned. It was a long day today. Thresh chuckled. I loved his laugh. "Get some sleep. You need it."
I didn't have to energy to argue, so I laid down along with Thresh, who draped his giant head over my back and locked my head, and closed my eyes.
"I'll watch over you." Was the last thing I heard Thresh day before I let darkness claim me.

My eyes shuttered open and I yawned. Looking around, I realized I was still near the pond, but the sun was setting now.
Whoa, didn't realize I slept that long.
"You alright?" I turned to Thresh who was still laying next to me.
I smiled. "Never better." I flattened my ears in embarrassment. "Sorry, I didn't mean to sleep that long."
"It's fine. You're cute when you sleep."
If I want in my wolf form, which I'm glad I wasn't, I would've blushed.
Suddenly Thresh seemed alert and on edge. His ears were forward and there was a deep rumble in his chest.
I got worried. "What is it?"
"Someone's out there. Quick! Get back t-"
Before he could finish, a group of wolves jumped out of the bushes and surrounded us. They were growling as they circled us, all seven of them. I flattened my ears in fear, but Thresh used himself to cover me and growl threateningly.
Suddenly I saw two very familiar wolves. I stood, making Thresh look at me in confusion, but I ignored him and trotted forward. "Mom? Dad?"
My mom's chocolate brown wolf form raced to me. "Shiva!" She started showering my with licks. "Oh my precious pup! You're safe now!"
"Mom." I chuckled slightly. "I'm okay, really."
My dad's dark grey wolf stepped forward and he gave me a 'hug'. "And we're glad you are."
