Snape's Decision

Snape's point of view:

I walked quickly down the dark street. I heard a faint noise, like footsteps, and wiped my head around. There was nothing there. I still had the strange feeling I was being followed. I stood under the glow of the street light, waiting. After a few seconds A figure with platinum blonde hair and piercing grey eyes apparated in front of me.
"Hello Severus." Lucius Malfoy said.
"Hello." I replied.
"Are you ready?" He asked.
I nodded, but honestly I was nervous.
We apparated and appeared in front of a ancient house. Shingles were falling off the roof and the walls were overgrown with ivy.
"Come on." Lucius said, approaching the house.
I hesitated before following him. I was starting to rethink my decision. I wish I could have talked to Lily. No. This is what I want. These are my friends and if she'd rather hang around Potter then I don't care. At least, that's what I told myself.
We walked up an old, rotting wooden stairs case that creaked with every step. When we reach the top I could here voices on the other side of the door. Lucius pushed open the heavy door and we entered a dimly lit room.
Lucius bowed. "My lord."
I bowed as well.
There he was. Lord Voldemort. He stood in the center of the room. He had a powerful presence and a twisted smile.
"Welcome Severus." Lord Voldemort said. "Come forward, hold out your arm."
I obeyed.
He touched his wand to my arm and recited an incantation. It seared with pain. A snake slithering out of a skull appeared on my arm in dark black ink.

James's point of view:
The platform was packed with students returning after holiday. Sirius and I made our way through the sea of witches and wizards. Having Sirius living with us was great. (Even if mum was shouting at us half the time) it was like having a brother.
"Padfoot!Prongs!" Remus called. He and Peter were standing beside the gleaming Hogwarts express. We walked over to join them and spent a few minutes catching up.
Remus checked his watch. "We better find a compartment." He said.
We found Lily and Marlene chatting in a compartment and decided to join them. I took a seat next to Lily. I decided to ask her out. (For the thousandth time) I had it all planned out. It was going to completely romantic. (Girls love that kind of thing)
Regulus walked down the hallway at met Sirius's gaze. He glared at him and walked away.
"What was that about Black?" Marlene asked.
"I'm not exactly on the best terms with my family." Sirius said. "My mother threatened to disown me so I ran away."
"I'm sorry." Marlene said softly. She put her hand on his.
I raised my eyebrows.
Nothing going on between them my ass.
When they realized I noticed they pulled their hands apart.
"It's okay. I've moved on." Sirius said.
"So Evans, how was your summer?" I asked conversationally.
"Alright I guess. How was yours?" She said smiling.
"Good." I said. "There's been something I've been meaning to ask you."
Alice burst into the compartment. "You'll never guess what happened!!!" She squealed.
"What?" Lily asked.
"Frank said I love you to me!!!" Alice said ecstatically.
Lily and Marlene let out screams of excitement.
"When?!" Marlene asked.
"Just now!" Alice replied beaming.
"Tell us everything!" Lily demanded.
"Don't you dare leave out a single detail!" Marlene said.
Alice sat down between them and told them what happened. Lily and Marlene were completely inthralled.
I guess I'll have to wait to ask Lily out.
"What's the big deal about saying I love you?" Sirius asked.
Lily, Alice and Marlene all glared at him intensely.
"Saying I love you defines the entire relationship." Lily said.
"How? They're just words." Sirius said.
The girls rolled their eyes.
"Unbelievable." Alice said.
"People use words to tell the other person how they feel." Marlene said like she was explaining something to a small child.
"You know what they say Mickinnon, actions speak louder than words." Sirius said smirking.
"You're ridiculous Black." She said trying not to smile.
