My Little Pony. Princess Twilight Sparkle 1: The Princess of Harmony.

Chapter 1: Love finally blossoms for the Princess of Friendship

It was a crisp and chilly autumn morning in the small town of Ponyville, which was located just an hour's train ride from Equestria's capital city, Canterlot, the home of Princesses of the Day and Night, Celestia and Luna, their home, Canterlot Castle, could be seen in the distance from Ponyville's town square, the Castle of Friendship, a gigantic Crystal castle, stood shimmering in the steadily rising morning sun. The Castle of Friendship had been the home of Princess Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship, her Dragon assistant, Spike and her pet owl, Owlowiscious, since the final episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Season 4, Episode 26, when Twilight's original home, the Golden Oak Library, was completely destroyed by Lord Tirek, an evil and extremely volatile, magic stealing Centaur, who had escaped from Tartarus, Equestria's highly secure and virtually inescapable prison, which was built for all of Equestria's most dangerous magical creatures. To date, Lord Tirek is the only major villain to have escaped from Tartarus, as Princess Luna's rvil alter-ego, Nightmare Moon, was imprisoned on the moon by Princess Celestia, Discord was trapped in stone twice, by the Mane Six and Princesses Celestia and Luna, Starlight Glimmer took over her village, before she was stopped by Princess Twilight Sparkle and Spike, King Sombra was obliterated by the Crystal Heart, Queen Chrysalis was defeated twice in her attempts to rule Equestria, first by the Mane Six and the love of Princess Cadance and Shining Armour and the Pony of Shadows was sent packing by the combined efforts of Princess Twilight Sparkle, Starlight Glimmer, the Mane Six, with their Elements of Harmony and the Pillars of Equestria and their very own versions of the Elements of Harmony.

During his very successful, but, extremely brief takeover of Equestria, Lord Tirek successfully managed to steal the magic of every single Earth Pony, Pegasus and Unicorn in Equestria. Tirek also successfully stole the magic of Discord and Spike, 2 non-equine creatures, Spike is a Dragon and Discord is a Dracconequus. Lord Tirek had done this in order to rob Equestria's newest Princess, Twilight, of her recently acquired Alicorn Magic, in order for him to become unstoppable, Tirek also wanted to steal the magic of Equestria's 3 other Princesses, Celestia, the Princess of the Day, Luna, the Princess of the Night and Cadance, the Princess of Love, who had reluctantly been forced to relinquish their own Alicorn Magic to the newest Equestrian Princess, Twilight Sparkle, this was done so that the Elder Alicorns would be able to protect the younger Princess from being discovered and attacked by Lord Tirek, who thankfully didn't have long to gloat over his seemingly easy victory, as Twilight and the bearers of the Elements of Harmony, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, used their newly obtained Rainbow Magic, to weaken the destructive Centaur and he was returned to his heavily fortified prison cell on Tartarus, with Cerberus returning to his post, Tirek's new cell also prevented him from stealing magic from the other creatures who were also imprisoned on Tartarus.

Starlight Glimmer, a young and extremely talented Unicorn mare, who was almost as powerful as Twilight had been as a Unicorn, also called the Castle of Friendship home. Starlight had been Twilight's protégé, ever since she had reformed in the Season 5 finale, Starlight was formerly a villain, who ruled her former home, Utopia, with an iron hoof, until the Mane Six defeated her, thankfully, Starlight had long since reformed from her villainous ways, after Twilight and Spike discovered what had really made Starlight reject the idea of friendship, the dangerously unhinged young Unicorn mare had attempted to alter Equestria's history, so that Twilight, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash were never united by Rainbow's very first Sonic Rainboom, which she had performed whilst defending Fluttershy's honour against 3 bullies, Hoops, Dumb-Bell and Score, at the Junior Speedsters Flight Camp in Cloudsdale.

(Ahem, anyhoof. Let's get back to the story).

At the Castle of Friendship, Princess Twilight Sparkle was inside the castle's huge crystal library, which was at least 5 times bigger than the Princess' former home, the Golden Oak Library, had been. The Princess of Friendship was busily rearranging all of the books on the shelves, she'd even used some of her powerful Alicorn Magic to make the books self-rotate, so that ponies visiting the library could find the book that they wanted, whenever they came to borrow a book, Twilight wasn't doing the sorting on her own however, as she was being assisted by her long-serving and trusted assistant, her adoptive baby brother, Spike, the young Dragon was happily trotting back-and-forth, bringing the Princess of Friendship books to put back on their correct shelves, depending on their subjects, Spike had been loyally by Twilight's side, ever since he'd hatched at Twilight's entrance exam at Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. (Twilight was just a young filly back then and she almost caused a huge disaster, after Rainbow Dash's first Sonic Rainboom accidentally set off Twilight's more powerful Unicorn magic, this inadvertently caused her to hit Spike, which made him grow to a huge size, turn her parents into plants and lift the 3 terrified exam teachers into the air, it wasn't until Princess Celestia managed to calm Twilight down, that the young Unicorn realised her true potential and she earned her cutie mark).
