Ch.41 Confessions

Elena laid in her bed and thought about what happened with her and Rachel, because of her, she had to break up her friendship with Terrence so that it wouldn't ruin his and Rachel's friendship. It was like another love relationship down the drain, even though it was only their first date. But she felt so connected to Terrence, and their almost kiss just had to be ruined. Just then there was a knock at her door.

"Hey" Olivia said in a calm voice as she entered "How are you feeling?"

Elena gave a sad sign.

"I know how you feel to have your heart broken" Olivia said with a sad look as she sat next to Elena.

"We really connected" Elena said sadly "But I didn't want to ruin his friendship with Rachel".

"I know" Olivia sighed and she rubbed her back "But hey, at least it wasn't a real breakup like me and Aidan".

"I know" Elena mumbled "But it hurts so bad".

"You wanna, do something fun to get your mind off of it?"

Elena gave a sigh "I don't know".

"You wanna watch 'Mean Girls' again?"

"No".

"You wanna watch some Vines or something?"

"I'm not in the mood to do anything".

"Come on" Olivia urged "You did this to me when I had my breakup with Aidan, why can't I do it to you?"

Elena just sighed.

"Elena, come on. Hey why don't we go see a movie? Oh you know what, I'll invite the girls over and we can have another girl's night".

"It's a school night remember?" Elene mumbled.

"Oh right" Olivia said remembering.

"I just wanna be alone for tonight please?"

Olivia sighed "All right, I hope you'll feel better".

She then left the room leaving Elena alone. Elena gave another sigh as she let herself fall asleep, thinking about Terrence.

In a pond near the school, Duchess in her swan form swam around with the other swans, making her stand out since she was the only black swan while the others were white. She admired how beautiful the other swans were with their sleek white feathers. Seeing swans reminded her of her story, she knew she was suppose to be the heroine of the story, but she was suppose to turn into a white swan, not a black one. This then made her nervous, what if she was really designed to be the Black Swan? Then that would make her the villain. She knew it was kinda true that she can be pretty stubborn and mean, but she couldn't imagine herself of a villain, can she? She then swam to land and waddled out and flew herself to her dorm where she flew in through the open window transformed back into herself. There she saw her roommate Lizzie sitting on her bed on her MirrorPad with her pet hedgehog Shuffle next to her. While Lizzie's pet was a hedgehog from Wonderland, Duchess's was a trumpeter swan name Pirouette who was fast asleep in her nest next to her bed.

"Hey Duchess" Lizzie said.

"Hey" she said back with a nervous look.

"You ok? She look a little nervous".

"Oh I'm fine" she lied. Truth was, she was nervous about her destiny if she really is designed to be the next Black Swan.

"Come on" Lizzie urged "You got something on your mind, what is it? Is it an upcoming test?"

"No" Duchess sighed "All right, you know how much I don't like my destiny right?"

"You talk about it everyday" Lizzie put in "But yeah".

"Well" she said nervously "I just had a thought, what if I'm really designed to become the next Black Swan instead of the White Swan?"

"Oh" Lizzie said surprised as Duchess sat on Lizzie's bed.

"That could explain why I can turn into a black swan instead of a white one, and that can also explain my, well, personality".

"I get that, and I know how much you want a happily ever after, and even me, I don't want to be mean and bossy and wanting to chop off heads. I would like to change my story a bit, but, I still don't know if that's possible".

Duchess gave a sigh "Lizzie, I'm scared. If I really am designed to become the next Black Swan, then that means I'm going to be a villain. And even though I don't die in the story, I don't want to be a villain".

"I know how you feel" Lizzie sighed "I don't want to be the villain in my story either, I don't want people to be afraid of me".

"Well you kinda tend to do so with all of your shouting and all".

"Hey can I tell you a little secret? Do you know the main reason why I tend to shout and get mad easily?"

"Cause you were raised that way".

"Well, yes, but there's another reason. I used to be really shy when I was younger, and I remember I was really shy when I first met my Wonderland friends, but back then when I tried to talk to other people, I would chicken out and either run away or say something weird and I would get so embarrassed and angry at myself that I would yell at people to scare them away because I was afraid I was going to humiliate myself again. So all of my outbursts are due to my failed socializing. And also I tend to have rejection issues, but I'm working on it".

"Oh my gosh" Duchess gasped "I had no idea you used to be shy around people".

"Well it's true, but I'm working on my social skills, and my friends are helping me".

"Does anyone else know about this?"

"Just my Wonderland friends, and now you".

"How come you never told anyone else?"

"Because" Lizzie sighed "I just don't want to, it seems embarrassing. But my point to you is, no matter what problems you face, you'll always have friends to help you, and even if you are designed to be the next Black Swan, we'll help, cause that's what friends do".

"But what if I really am designed to become the next Black Swan?"

"Then I'm gonna talk to Headmaster Grimm and order him to let you change your story" Lizzie smiled.

"Really?"

"Well if I have no other choice, also I'll threaten his head off".

Duchess gave a small laugh.

"Hey" Lizzie grabbed onto her hand "No matter what anyone says, you really are a cool person".

"Thanks" Duchess smiled as they hugged.

Duchess felt so glad to have Lizzie as a friend, cause she was always there for her.
