An hour later, all the food was made by Cameron, Ethan, and Grayson. I would've helped but the only things I can make are pizza rolls and bagels. Those are basically the only things I eat anyways. I went back to the bathroom and changed into a dress so that I made a better impression. I don't know why I'm even nervous. I'm not even dating Grayson, for God's sake. I can't believe he told them that. Sure, we had some moments but it was either careless flirting or vulnerable times. I smooth my black Hollister dress down and open the bathroom door.
"They're here." Grayson appears at the doorway of the open bathroom. He gives me a once over and nods his head to the hall. "You look fine, come on."
"Whatever you say." I groan and follow him out and into the living room. There they are, sitting on the couch with Cameron. I immediately see similarities between the five of them, Grayson, Cameron, and Ethan's eyes compared to their mother's and father's face structures.
"Mom, Dad, I'd like you to meet my girlfriend, Trinity." Gray smirks at them and I try my best not to roll my eyes.
"Hey." I smile nervously.
"Why hello, Trinity. I've heard so much about you." Mrs. Dolan smirks at Grayson before winking at me. "He's really got a thing for you."
I laugh and look up at Grayson's, now, red face. "I bet."
"I'm glad to hear one of my sons are actually socializing with fans instead of interacting with them online." Mr. Dolan nods and smiles.
"Oh, I'm not-" Grayson nudges me, making me stop and look at him quizzically.
"She lives across the hall." He raises his eyebrow at me, making me extremely confused.
"Why was there caution tape?" Cameron frowns at me.
"Her mother is missing." Ethan pipes up from the kitchen, getting out plates. "She's been staying with us."
"Oh, I'm so sorry sweetie." Mrs. Dolan stands up and hugs me. I smile and try to hide my hurt.
"Thank you, Mrs. Dolan."
"You seem so kind, I'm sorry to hear something so terrible happen to you." She pulls away and places her hand on my shoulder. Tears well up in my eyes at the mention of it.
"Okay enough of that." Grayson pulls me back and claps his hands together. "Time to eat."
Because they hadn't gotten a table yet, we each sat on the floor around their coffee table with spaghetti and meatballs on our plate and a side of home made garlic bread. I have to admit, Ethan is a really good cook. He should do it more often instead of getting take out from Chik-Fil-A or Taco Bell.
"You have any siblings?" Cameron wipes her mouth with a napkin.
"No, I'm an only child as far as I know." I shrug.
"As far as you know?" She raises her eyebrows.
"Oh, my parents are divorced. I know my Dad has another son, but I never see him. Even my mom is barely home."
"So you're basically home alone all the time?" Mr. Dolan looks at me in disbelief.
"Since I was 10." I nod and continue to eat.
"Honey, I'm glad Grayson fell for you and let you stay in his apartment. I presume you are the same age?" Mrs. Dolan interlocks her fingers.
I laugh and give Grayson a look."Yeah we're the same age."
"Grayson really likes you, you know." Cameron smirks and looks at Ethan. "I'm surprised Ethan doesn't."
I frown and look at both of them, their mouths agape and glaring at each other. "What?"
"Okay, let's just continue to eat this lovely meal Ethan has kindly made." Mrs. Dolan sneaks a nervous glance at her husband. I have a sick feeling this may have happened before.
"You like my girlfriend?" Gray glares at Ethan.
"I never said that. And what if I do?" Ethan raises his eyebrows at Grayson.
"Guys, chill. I was joking but you two are clearly not taking it as that." Cameron puts her hands up. I silently glance between them all, not knowing what to say or do.
"He's just jealous of me." Gray scowls.
"I am not. I'm older." Ethan folds his arms.
"By 20 minutes." Grayson rolls his eyes.
"Let's not fight, boys. Especially in front of this young lady you both like." Mr. Dolan smiles, amused. I'm pretty sure that set them off because they lunged at each other. I stood up, shocked and angry that they could be so childish to fight over a girl that doesn't even like them. I know that sounds kind of rude, but it's true and they should both know that. I haven't done anything to lead them on, you know, besides the fact Grayson and I practically made out.
"Get off." Mr. Dolan rips Ethan off Grayson and holds them away from each other. "You two are despicable. It's been a great dinner but we should be going. You two need to sort this out and we can go out together tomorrow or the day after." He nods to Cameron and Mrs. Dolan, them both getting up and glaring at the twins.
"Goodbye Trinity. It was great meeting you." Mrs. Dolan smiles and follows her husband and Cameron out the door.
I sigh and look at the two giving each other death glares, pissed off. They continue to glare, motionless, so I pick up the 6 plates and utensils, bringing them to the sink and starting to clean. They don't even have a dishwasher. Eventually, someone leaves because the door slams while the other appears beside me.
"Sorry about him. He's got anger issues." It's Ethan but I almost wished it was Grayson.
"Yeah, I can tell." I smile and continue to scrub the plates.
"About me liking you-"
"It's okay. I don't know if you actually do and if you want to tell me, you will when you want to." I smile at him again and hand him a plate to dry.
"Good, because I think I do like you."
Oh.
