I look back at Hayes and then to Grayson. "You really shouldn't be here."
"I know. I want to apologize and try to explain. Cam keeps a key under the mat." Grayson shakes his head.
I roll my eyes at Grayson and turn to Hayes. "You don't have to be here for this, you know."
"This was your ex almost-boyfriend?" Hayes raises his eyebrows.
"Yeah." I nod.
"Then I am staying." Hayes closes the door behind him and stands next to me.
"This is really just business between us." Grayson glares at Hayes.
"He's my friend, Grayson." I sigh.
"Whatever. Look, Trin, I wasn't kissing that girl because I like her. I didn't even want you to see. I was-"
"kissing Cameron's girlfriend because you wanted him to let me move back in with you guys." I finish for him. "I know, okay? But did you take a second to think that you were hurting him? He's my brother, Gray. Don't you think I'd hate you anyways?"
"You hate me?" Grayson frowns.
"How couldn't I, Gray?" I huff and open the door. "I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
"But, Trinity, I love you." He shakes his head and walks up to me, cupping my face with his hands.
"I can't see you right now, Grayson." I pull his hands off my face and look out to the hallway.
He nods and backs out, sending a lasting glare to Hayes. I close the door and lock it, walking over to the couch to sit down.
"You okay?" Hayes sits down next to me.
"As okay as anyone would be after that." I give him a weak smile.
"It's really late. Why don't you go to bed? I'll stay until Cameron comes home." He shrugs.
"You don't have to, but thanks." I stand up and walk upstairs. I figure I should probably take a shower so that's what I do.
When I am done, I walk out to Hayes watching TV and sitting on Cameron's bed. I smile and sit down behind him, scrolling through my phone. Apparently a lot of people reacted to the false report of Hayes and I dating. It's crazy how people automatically resort to us dating when we just became friends today.
"You see them too?" He leans back so he's laying next to me.
"The tweets?" I slip under the covers and raise my eyebrows.
"Yep."
"Yeah, it's whatever.
"Maybe we could play into this to get back at Grayson." Hayes suggests.
"I don't know. That seems kind of low if I'm honest." I frown.
"I know, but you were hurt. Don't you want to hurt him back?" He raises his eyebrows.
I hesitate before answering, taking into account all the possibilities. "I don't want to be that kind of girl."
"You won't, I promise." Cameron walks in and nods at us before walking into the bathroom. "Just think about it, okay?" Hayes pats my leg and stands up, planting a kiss on my forehead before letting himself out.
Though Hayes may be on a good track and mean well, I don't think I'd be able to go through with anything like that. It's too much for me to go through with everything going on.
Cameron comes out and is changed into pajamas. He sits on the other side of the bed and looks at me.
I purse my lips before asking my question. "Are you okay?"
