Honestly I'm left speechless. How am I supposed to respond to something like that?

"I-uh." I stutter and hand him the last plate. "I think I have to go for a walk."

"I'll come with you." Ethan puts the plate down and walks towards me as I back away.

"I kind of want to go alone. I'll be back in a bit." I slip into some sperries by the door and sigh before stepping out and closing it behind me. I'm not entirely evil, so I feel bad for Ethan. I mean he didn't do anything for me to be rude to him. It just came out of nowhere.

My eyes graze over the caution tape over my door. Everything draws me to it; the desire for home, safety, and love. I take the key from underneath the welcome mat and stick it into the keyhole, letting the door swing open to the messy apartment. I bend under the tape and close the door behind me. I hit the light switch and the lights flicker on. It feels so weird here now and I've only been gone like a day or two.

"I was going to come and see you." I snap around to my father, his face resembling a confused and stressed mess.

"Dad." My voice cracks and I run into him, crying into his chest. I don't understand how I deserve this in life. Those twins just cause me more stress.

"Trinity. How have you been?" He strokes my hair.

"Wow, Dad. I thought you noticed." He chuckles a bit and I smile.

"The neighbors been good?" He raises his eyebrows.

"I guess you could say that. I didn't think you'd be here today?"

"Me neither. I pulled a few strings and here I am." He shrugs. "I'm going to check into the hotel across the street. You wanna come?"

Laughter erupts from the hallway, causing both of our heads to snap to the door.

I sigh. "I gotta take care of something. I will call you later though."

"Okay, sweetie. Let me know if you want a room. I'll pay for a separate." He pats my arm as he picks up his suitcase.

"What do you mean a separate one?" I frown. Last time my mom told me, he didn't have the good money.

"Your mother didn't tell you? I got roped into co-owning an insurance company."

"How did that happen?" I am utterly confused.

"Hard work pays off." He smiles and steps back out the door.

I shake my head. I cannot believe my own mother would keep something like that from me. Whatever. I step back out as well and lock the door behind me, placing the key in its original spot. I hate to be the mood killer but I have to talk to these boys.

It's like when I open the door, I shot someone. Everyone's heads turn to me, a blank expression on their faces.

"Uh hey guys?" I smile awkwardly and walk towards them.

"Hey?" Jack glances at the twins and back to me. Guess he knows.

"Sorry to bother you all. My dad's in LA now so I can go and get a hotel with him." I bite my lip. No one responds so I take that as a 'get the hell out'. "Well, thanks for letting me stay with you guys." I walk to Grayson's room to get my bag. I can hear them whispering about stuff. I roll my eyes and quietly gather all my stuff before quickly walking to the door. I don't give anyone a second look. It's bad enough I caused them to fight. I am about to close the door when someone grabs my wrist.

"I'm not going to let you go this easy." Grayson pushes me out into the hall, closing the door behind us.

"Grayson, what are you doing?" I sigh and look away.
