“Too late for what? Colten what happened?!” I said, placing my hand on his fist. “I saw her...in the woods...she...she looked at me...and...I wanted to walk to her...to hold her and she turned to me...and in seconds she was gone. She just disappeared!” He began to shout, tears rolling down his cheeks. “And when I ran to where she was, I found this...this fucking necklace!” He pulled his hand back from my grip, throwing it down. “I’m almost completely certain that she’s gone because of me Lillian. She’s fucking gone and it’s all my fault!” He grabbed my shoulders, frightening me. “It’s all my fault...” He dropped to his knees, whimpering. “Colten it’s not your fault...I promise...we’ll find her.” “This happened yesterday...For almost thirty six hours I searched high and low around where she disappeared. I found nothing. I searched every inch of that forest! That spot!” He punched the floor, shattering the wood. “Nothing! She’s gone and I have no way of finding her!” He punched the ground again, and I could see tears hit the floor. “Lilly, what’s going on?” Damien asked, standing at the last step of the stairs. “Bella’s gone. She disappeared.” Damien’s eyes half darkened, he picked Colten up by his shoulders, pushing him against the wall. I could tell Colten was so heartbroken, his body limp as he didn’t fight back. “Where’s Bella?! Did you kill her you bastard?!” He growled, punching him across the jaw. “What happened to her?!” “I don’t know!” He yelled back, tears staining his cheeks. “One minute she was there and the next she was gone!” “What did you do to her?!” “I didn’t do anything! It was all my fault but I didn’t do anything!” Damien dropped Colten, turning towards the door. “I’m going to go find her.” He opened the door, stepping out. “Damien you can’t. Colten tried and he-” “No! I’m going to find her! I can’t loose her!” He shouted, slamming the door. I ran, pushing the door open. “Damien what the hell is wrong with you?! You can’t go off by yourself!” “If I take any of you, you’ll die.” He turned back to face me, his eyes locked on me as he locked his jaw. “That’s what happened with Krista when you looked for me. So I’m going alone this time. Now, go back inside.” “I don’t think so. I’m coming with you whether you like it or not.” “Do I have to turn on you again?” I stomped up to him, punching him in the chest. “I hate you...” I whispered. “Lillian...” “No! I...I hate you Damien! You keep thinking that risking your life is going to fix everything that everything will be okay when you’re gone but it won’t be! Nothing will be okay! I’d rather die with you than let you die alone!” He froze, his eyes locked on the ground. “Do...you really hate me?” He asked, still looking at the ground. “Right now? A little yeah...” I chuckled softly, stepping up closely so my face was right below his. “But that doesn’t mean I love you any less than I did before.” He kissed me softly, and stepped back. “We should get back inside...” He grabbed my hand, pulling me into the cabin.

Colten was still on his knees by the wall, a couple of indents in the ground. “Colten?” I walked up to him and he shot up to his feet. “Did you find her?” He asked, his eyes bloodshot. “No...but we will I promise...” I reassured him. “Um...Lillian...I never told you what was on that note...” Damien said, coming up a few steps behind me. “What?” I turned quickly, feeling Colten come up behind me. “Walter said he’d have someone I care about soon...and that if I don’t give up...that person would...” He kept that horrid last word to himself. I could hear Colten’s breathing stop. “If she dies because of you...I’ll kill you.” Colten growled, speeding to his room. “So...that’s why you did that?” I asked, sighing. He nodded and started for the door. “That’s why I’m doing this...” “We.” I growled, standing in front of the door. “I’m coming with you.” “No you-” “Hey! We’re all packed let’s go!” Emily called, stepping down the stairs along with Seth. We turned to her, smiling. “You guys head on out, we’ll see you tomorrow alright?” I said, walking up and hugging her. “Um, alright.” After hugging her, I hugged Seth and we said goodbye, but I didn’t tell them that this might be the last they see of me. Soon after, Krista and Michael came down, and I did the same. Krista eyed me cautiously though, and I could tell she knew something was up. But, they left, and now it was just Colten, Damien and I.
